You could actually buy an 'S' in SMP Luke. Not sure how many were actually made, but I remember my parents almost bought one for my mum - think they opted for a Kingswood instead in the end.

Hi Guys.

Strike Me Pink was available on most LJs or HQs in 1972. There were a few exceptions, I don't think it was available for Monaro LS or Statesman models.

There is an LJ Torana S in SMP, often seen at shows around Sydney. I've also seen a few HQ Kingswoods & GTSs.

So SMP cam out in the S's too. Was this a special order paint code or standard for an S?

I dont know why.... But 6 seems to ring a bell for some reason... I might have read it in an Ad for one once... Im sure one of the experts would have a better idea

13891 was a standard paint colour across the board ! It just didn't sell very well so they canned it for "March 17th"

was an old thread...think we got up to 9 or similiar...some say 15 for XU1s but doubt anyone really knows.

Yeah, 9 is an upside 6... so maybe thats where i got it from...

Pity there is no real record of it like there was with A9X's etc

I know someone who bought a strike me pink XU-1 from the showroom in Adelaide, was painted yellow when they sold it a few years later though

Not many LJ GTR's in Strike me Pink, there are more LJ XU1's in Strike me Pink. But they made them.

Need help verifying a smp gtr/xu1 ALJ 01506B built 3/72.

Yon need your small Tag, it is called the PSN Tag or Vin Tag (That is the Main ID Tag) and the Paint and Trim Tag will tell you if the Car is Strike me Pink, GMH does not have a record of the LC/LJ Colours, believe me I have asked GMH Port Melbourne a few times about that subject matter.

If you are missing Paint & Trim Tag, then you need to check under roof lining and behind door trims and under parcel shelf cover etc and look for the SMP original colour etc.

This one you are talking about is the only 4 Door , they would of made some more, but it seems that the one you talk about will be the Only one so far that has showed up, so until any others show up, its the only known one, so a very Rare Car.

I own a 9/72 Bathurst smp xu1 original. Im told there was 6. Not sure if that was the standard genuine xu1 of the same details and or the Bathurst model.
