MODS, this will not be a copyright problem as the mag is 31 years old.
The company, and legal entity no longer exists.

Got a great Oct. 1977, "Bathurst Special" Motor Manual magazine off Ebay.

Great read.

Found an article on A9X, and an add for the same, but spec'd as "Limited Edition".
[car is same in both pics.]

Thought some might find it interesting. Still had chrome around tail lights,
all-be-it painted black. Also had an interesting strip package, not unlike a G-pack!

Does anybody know the wheels used? They look like a cross between
the LE Monaro honeycomb and a hotwire..

The wheels are 77 trans am SE "snowflake" wheels. That car was later crushed. And by the way, though I seriously doubt it will be an issue, the company that produced the article still exists, I know because I had to contact them to use articles from that magazine for our club newsletter. They had no problems with it because it was so old.

red,i would have said they were snowflakes off a t/a except then i read they were 14 inch...snowflakes on a 77 t/a were 15 inch..there definately a snowflake but not off a t/a...

i have a colour picture of this car in a book, it is bright orange in colour,
it looks like it is a promo car used at motor show etc.

This car is on the forum a number of times, including a long discussion on the wheels which as RED said, where Transam Snowflakes, 15 x 8 , HQ stud pattern.

Still available, try us ebay.

Having said that, i have one bent one here from my old T/A and they won't clear any half decent aftermarket performance brake setup.

Just on ^^^ about US ebay.

Back when I had the SS, I was chatting to a fella in the US
who had a set of Vega rims that looked like they would fit
a Torrie. We exchanged technical details, and all seemed
to match up.

What other mainstream rims fit our babies?

Perhaps a new thread is in order.

That's actually the car I'm copying hence my tag - Did a bit of research into it after I first saw colour photos of it in two 90's Torana mags which were running stories on a9X's. It had no bonnet scoop and a yellow tartan interior (standard sunbudgie issue I believe)
The wheels appear to be 7 inch wide. I believe there are 14 inch versions. The 15's are available in 7's and 8inches wide (WS6 code I think). The latter are distinguished by the deeper rim face. Easiest way to pick is to look where the spokes meet the rim. &'s are almost flush (as in the photo above of the concept car)

I recall reading an article in a mag - possibly an old Leo Pruneau interview that the snowflakes were originally chosen for the LE but there were supply problems so GMH went with the honeycombs. A monaro or Kingswood styling car was actually fitted with the snowflakes too. Plenty of other GM wheels fit.

Yea^ the turbo concept Monaro sedan (HJ/HX) with triple blue paint scheme had those snowflakes fitted.

i remember seeing this car on the back of a car carrier on parramatta road fivedock on my way to school,..I'd say it was heading to the motor show..i guess never quite recovered..i was telling my school mates on the bus (409) its a a race torana they all thought i was mad and continuing swapping footy cards while i stared in awe...only seems like yesterday...
