Hi Grant (and All),
yes the planning for Toranafest has begun (actually about 1 month ago). At this stage, we have not said alot due to the finalisation of a few things. I am sure that some here may know what I am alluding to.. Once we have more info, I will announce it here. All I can say is that Toranafest 2008 is already shaping up to be better than last year!!
As far as suggestions go, by all means, let me know.
I know that high on the adgenda is to sort out the trophy issues. We are currently looking at the current categories as well as who is doing the judging.
We will be also looking at timings and hopefully bringing the presentations a little forward.
We are looking at have more race cars/ replicas as well as more celebraties on the day.
We are looking at creating a more "markets" style setup around the show and this should be a bonus for the wives and G/Fs..
Grant, as far as your ideas go, I would be keen to hear about them.

Last years event was pretty dam good! best day for it aswell!
Bringing the presentation forwards may be a good idea as it is usually the waiting around that stops some from coming, and makes some leave early.
I think the way the cars were set up last year was awesome and quite unique.
Music was good all day, everyone was freindly etc etc.
The "market" idea is good, how about a small car part swap for entrants only? (as in only entrants can bring small items to sell, not only entrants can buy though)
The auction is always good.
Some "events" could liven some people up.
Maybe have a torana Hubcap frisbee golf competition (where you need to get it in a bucket or bin etc)
More trade style stalls would be good (ie products for our cars)
Name badges?? bahahaha.

its a pity we cannot have some driving events as well ( burnout comp , spear a spud or even a lunch time cruise around newcastle city )

I can't wait for this to come around again, hopefully bigger and better if thats possible. Ahh 12 1/2 hours in an LC now thats fun, but really uncomfortable.

I thought you were going to complain more about the fuel price to get there and back Chris. 
LC/Js aren't too uncomfortbable, unless your 10 foot tall and 6 foot wide.

Nah Steve fuels fine, I have 8-9 months to plan this time not 4 days before deciding to go. Plenty of time to stash some cash for fuel. Hey who knows fuel could be cheaper by then . HaHa.

I should have P's by then, get them in July, and am planning on entering in this years Toranafest, and, depending on the date for me to hand it in, I will be towing the Torailer up behind me. Should get a bit of interest up there...
