As you said, it's probably a little late for this year as we already have food vendors coming in. I know from our club's prespective, there is definately no way we could run a "Sausage sanga" stand at Toranafest as we are flat out keeping up with everything else.
I did print off the PDF that you posted and we will look at it for next year
cheers

Hi all
a bit of an update..
Firstly, we have recieved 77 entries so far and that's great. Once agian, if you are coming, please try and pre enter. Of the 77 entries so far, we have every model except the TA (Mazza, what's doing?). The number if XU1's and A9X's, that have entered so far, should make this a very special year. I know that there are a number of cars that have not been seen on the car show circuit before.
We have already started to recieve a number of entries from the owners of Race and Race Replicas and we will well and truely eclipse the four that we had last year. At this stage we have the following race cars entered;
Gary Rogers A9X,
Jansen/ Perkins A9X,
Grice/Cessnock Motors XU1,
Brock/ Sampson L34 (Race Replica),
Brock No1 XU1 (Race Replica), and
HDT LH SLR5000 (Race Replica).
There are a number of others that we know of but we are just waiting confirmation of their entries.
To the Clubs that are attending
Please remember to let me know your final club numbers NLT a week out. If we do not have this, we cannot guarantee that you will all be together.
Also, we will require at least one (maybe two) of your members to assist in the judging of a number categories (mainly the "Authentic" Category) The more clubs that assist us, the better , and fairer, it will be.
The way that we will be setting out the cars will allow clubs to set up shade shelters, etc in between their cars, as the cars will be set up rear to rear with a 4-5m gap between the rear of the cars.
On the Day
When you arrive on the day you will be ushered through the carpark and onto the grassed area where entrant registration will happen. This will allow the car park to be virtually free for those to off load their cars from trailers, etc. It also means that will should not have any back log of cars out onto the main road, like we have in the past.
Bring ya money!!
As before, we will have the usual auctions, as well as a number of "Market Stalls" and Trader Stands in attendance. This has been an area where we hope to attract more ladies on the day with a number of the stall being directed to female tastes. With regards to the Auctions, all I can say at this stage in that some very interesting items will be up for auction on the day...
Enter Early or Miss Out!!
If you enter after 1 September, the chances are that you may miss out on a Goodie Bag, and if you enter on the day you WILL NOT recieve a T Shirt. I can tell you that the items that we are recieving for the goodie bags will place the value of these bags in the vicinity of around $50 - $60!.
That's about it at the moment. All is good. I will have updates again in the next few weeks as we get closer to the date..
If you have any questions, let me know.
cheers
Mick

After reading 11 pages looks like it's going to be awesome. Couldn't make it last year. Trip I worked out from Albury/Wodonga with fuel/ac/spending money etc will set me back about $1,000. 1600 km round trip. 308 3 spd auto with 3.5 diff gears won't help with the fuel bill either-98 octane, (half of the est. cost is fuel alone). Most of my mates aren't into cars either which makes it hard. If anyone in my area is looking at going & needs a lift to help with the fuel bill let me know as nothings out of the question.

I'm not sure if i can make it, i will be on holdays, but i have a retaining wall to build 1st.
I have every intention to come if my circumstances allow and definately want to bring the Hatch.
Just would prefer to not park 2km's away in some side street.
It's a long walk back to Melb if the car goes missing.

Can you not enter on the day Paul? You might pick up Most Original or something
Tim
Possibly the best option?
Dont know about original anymore!
By that time it will have a (UC/banjo) disc brake arse end in it as well as the UC frontend that it already has.
Will still look mostly original from the outside, but with upgrades.

Well Mick's L32 SS won it last year, and that's anything but original...
Tim
We hope to have that sort of "problem" fixed this year.. No offence Mick!!

Paul
The "best parking on the day would be to pre-enter, but if you can't then entry on the day is available as well
cheers

with 39 days to go, we have just topped 100 entrants!! At the same time last year we had 55!!
If this keeps up, we are going to need a bigger park!!

Keep em coming, we want to top the magical 185 entries!! (That was set at Toranafest's first show back in 1994)
For those that weren't there last year, here is a bit of what you can look forward to...

Also, just a reminder... Clubs need to let me know hwo many cars they have coming. A lot of entrants have not indicated this on their form.. (We will be fixing this for next year)
cheers

I'm meeting up with some of the lads/gals from the Canberra Club at 9.30am at the southern Maccas in Goulburn on the Friday.
That Maccas is only a short distance from the Highway exit/entry at south Goulburn. Approx. 700metres or so.
I'm sure there would be no problem if others would like to join with this group for the journey north to Newcastle

73LJWhiteSL, Steve, are you coming up that day?
Regards ................. Barry
