Well, you could put this into your signature instead of the picture...

[img]https://cache.gmh-to...masmallnew4.jpg[/img$][/url$]

Just remove the '$' signs out of the end. Now anyone can click the picture and be linked to this thread :D

It's probably a bit late now to be effective, though. I just thought of it while looking at your signature earlier tonight.

I don't beleive that we have cracked 10,000 views on this thread...

that's pretty impressive!!

For your info, I was looking at Entrant numbers from 2002, and Toranafest has certainly taken off!!! Here is how the numbers have looked in previous years;

2002: 50 Entrants
2003: 45 Entrants
2004: 55 Entrants
2005: 65 Entrants
2006: 85 Entrants
2007: 154 Entrants
2008: ??? Who knows!!

Getting close now..

cheers
Mick

Hi Mick,
Are A9X National entrants counted in the numbers or are they just affliated with the event?

Yes, Toranaest is still on if it rains. And Yes, if it's like this, bring your gum boots (and your kayak)!! :D The area that we use is very good, drainage wise, so there is no dramas there.

Seriously, there is too much organising, from both us, the traders and most importantly, the entrants (esp. from interstate) to consider a "rain day" alternative. The club had tried that in the past (in 200, I think), and it falied miserably!

In saying all of that, we had the same sort of weather in the lead up to T'fest 2007 and it didn't stop until the Wed prior and it actually went bank to shitty weather the Monday after Toranafest, as well..

All we can do is hope (and pray, if that's what you do...) that we get great weather like we did last year.

cheers
Mick

Did anything eventuate on security for the cars at the motel? I didnt respond when the question was asked but I believe Keith1962 did. I was kinda hoping that it was going ahead and we had a rough idea on numbers and costs. Costs being my main concern, just the budget side of things. Am happy to contribute something.

For some of us there is only 13 more sleeps to go before we arrive :)

Cheers

Well i took my Torana for a warm up run to Bathurst just to
iron any bugs, it doesn't take much to suck up a $100 in fuel
these days but hey it was a great cruise for me even if i was
the only Torana on the mountain yesterday. It was so funny
that when i drove down past the start/finish line there were a
heap of commodores getting there photos taken but i stole the
lime light as people were bowing to the all mighty Torana &
taking snap shots of me.

cheers Keith

P.S. the torry went like a dream

Hi All

I thought that I would give you all an update on what is happening with Toranafest.

Firstly, We have a record number of Pre entrants so far with 176!! :spoton:

This is great, and we are still getting entry forms in..

A few stats about the pre-entered, for those that are interested..

Total value of cars: $7.31 million   (and that's conservative)

Model Break down:
HB-1, LC-15, LJ-54, TA-1, LH-32, LX-63, and UC-10.

Of which we have;
GTR's - 12, XU-1's - 31, L34's - 6, and A9X's - 14. (Oh, and one Sunbird!! :spoton: )

Our Furthest Distanced traveeld car will cover over 1500km to get to Toranafest!!

Over the coming week, I will add things like a plan of the whole set up as well as some useful info for those bring trailers.

I will also post up a list of Items that we will be selling on the day, as well as a list of the items that we have for the auctions.

regrads
Mick
