I'm in the same boat, noisy car, can't hear the radio and a car revving at 3800-4000 rpm for 12 hours. You get used to it plus lots of fuel stops about 220km per tank so plenty of time to straighten the legs.
If your serious about going let me know and I'll give you the details of the motel we stayed at last year, 10 min from beach, good rooms with parking at your door and cheap.
Cheers Chris

with regard to the Dinner. The dinner will be held at the Newcastle Jockey Club, Broadmeadow (only three minutes from the CBD).
Once the tickets are printed up and ready to go, we will make the announcement on where, and how, they can be purchased. An advance ticket offer will be made here approx 1 month prior to public sale to ensure that those coming to Toranafest can decide whether they will attend the dinner. I can tell you all that Ticket prices for the Dinner will be $99.00 pp. This includes a three course meal and a 4hr beverage package of beer, wine and softies.
With regard to parking, the NJC boasts 300 onsite car parks that are security patrolled. This should ensure the security of everyones cars for the night.
As Huddo as stated it will be a big night and it is surely something not to miss.
cheers

Assuming I make Toranafest this year that is. $99.00 goes a a long way towards my car on my tight budget.

I would love to attend that dinner and hear the speakers though, thats for sure.

I could probably convince Sterling Moss to come down too if you want to add to the tally of well known attendees!

I like the sound of doing a mass booking at a hotel for the weekend and organising security to keep an eye on the cars overnight. It's worth it for the peace of mind if nothing else. Bring it on!!

Just that I,m driving from Melb and I don't really want to be rushing.
Sounds like it'd be a great night and a great way to kick off the toranafest weekend.

Any room for a LX Torana (so not show car) with a EFI 304 fitted in the not finished cat. I could be tempted to drive down and bring the torrie this year not the commodore like last year.
