Made my booking today for the motel (ACT and Qld members staying there) you know which one! Friday the 19th and Saturday 20th.

I have a room for 4, it has one double bed, one single and two bunks.

Keith, Jeremy take note the double or queen is mine lol

well to be honest thats good I like a single bed that means any girl has to sleep on top or under me (for the kids "heath" that means bunk beds ) :tease:

G'day all

well, we have already started to get entry forms for Toranafest, which is great.

Can I ask what clubs are coming to Toranafest?

I would imagine that it is something like this;
HVTC
ATCA
STC
NSWTC
CTC
QTC
GTR & XU1 Club of QLD
GTR & XU1 Club of NSW

If there are any other clubs that will be "attending" as a club, can they add their names please.

What I will ask is that the various clubs Runs Co-ordinators let me know a couple of weeks before Toranafest how many cars they will have so we can work out the parking plan.

If I don't hear from the clubs, I cannot guarantee their cars will be together.

In response to some of the problems that we had last year, I will also be asking for the club's assistance on the day with regards to some of the judging of a couple of categories, but more on that to follow.

Can club members please pass this onto your committees?

Hey guys im currently tossing up between qld powercruise (late august) and toranafest to attend this year. I can only do one because my budget just wont stretch that far. Im just wondering if anyone from qld could give an idea on approximately how much i'd be looking at for fuel, food, accommodation and entry fees etc to come down for the weekend. Its a v8 lh but i have a 3:1 diff and 5 speed.

I'd love to come down and meet everyone and go for the big drive down and back. And would love to go down to show my car off to fellow torana lovers, and see all their great cars.

people from melbourne should be able to give you a good indication of the cost to get there.

I have some ,Toranafest info I printed out for Gary and the boys from STC, just need to drop it off to them, so far I only know of two cars from CTC and we are hooking up with popsSS on the Hume.
I will supply more info as it comes to hand unless the CTC committee take over the run coordination.

G'day All

just a bit of an update on Toranafest..

ENTRIES
Entry forms are slowly increasing in numbers and we have around 30 so far (at the same time last year, we had 10!!). :spoton:

Keep em coming, and please remember that any entries recieved after the 2nd Sept may not recieve a T Shirt , and any "on the day" will not. :fool:

RACE CARS and RACE REPLICAS
Initial interest could see as many as 10 - 12 Race Cars/ Race Replicas at Toranafest this year, which will be a huge increase from the 4 that we had last year. :spoton:

If you know of an owner of a race or race replica car that is interested in attending Toranafest, let me know.

A9X NATIONALS
When talking to the Sec of the A9X Torana Cub last night, it's looking like there will be more Hatch A9X's than Sedans!! That is apparently the first time that has occurred at any A9X Nationals. They have owners coming from as far as Tasmania and SA to this event!! :rockon:

Also, if you own an A9X, and are not a member of the A9X Club, and are thinking of attending Toranafest and the Nationals, PM me and I will pass your details onto the club.

I was talking about cars leaving from the Canberra / Goulburn area. Who know we may be able to hook up with more cars from Sydney along the way and I hope that is the case.

I'll be there and like last year, I just turn up on the day.

Most people hold off to see what the weather will be like then turn up on the day.

All I can say to anyone hesitating about going, Toranafest is an unreal day, very relaxing with a stack of mint torana's on display and a bunch of top people involved. You wont regret it :spoton:

BTW I think it might be a good idea if one of the clubs has a BBQ, maybe sell Sausage/Steak sandwiches if allowed by council? That Chip/Pluto pop stand was GARBAGE.

Good way to make some $$ for the club and nobody gets food poisoning.
