Guys,

the new small block is in the car sitting on castlemaine rod shop engine mounts, but the HEI dizzy that came with the engine won't bloody fit.

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Are their smaller electronic distributors or do I have to chase down an old points variety?

Which HEI dizzy do you have? Is it the huge one with the coil built-in to the cap? At a minimum, you will have to trim the firewall lip to gain some clearance. I used to run the huge dizzy I just mentioned, and had to actually recess the firewall area back even further.

There are certainly small HEI dizzy's available too, so you have options galore...

I personally use a Holden C/dore HEI that has been modified by ICE in Melb. to suit the Chev. A great unit and the smallest dia. you will find. Hope this helps.
