Well to answer the original question, "little torana" for me.

Step dad was into them as a young bloke, and they arent miniature commodores :P

Also, there was always that thing about blokes in BIG loud cars compensating for something (or lack of)......

So obviously the guys with Little loud cars aren't compensating for anything.

And hey, i agree with bomber, Id go a round with J-lo.

The LJ/LC's have a good potential for a high power to weight ratio, being only 1100Kg.

I think you will find the LC/Js ranged from just on 1000kg - 1050kg.

Nice picture up there... I notice that all three red cars are different shades of red. Thats what i like about the LC/J Toranas, i reckon they had some awesome colours.

Steve

Steve,..... I'll race ya, LOL

I owned an LC and I weighed it.
It came to just under 1100 Kg on the weigh bridge at Coldstream without me in the car.
The numbers your getting are probably from the book, which are from factory specs with very little or nothing else in the car.

Also, in terms of the specs, apparently LJ GTR's weighed 1100 Kgs under these conditions also.
http://www.uniquecar...cifications.htm

If your gonna make a fast LC/LJ, your ultimately going to add weight to it (Engine, Diff, Transmission, Wider Rims, etc etc.) My 1100Kg Hatch would be about 1Tonne (or less) too if I threw all the stock running gear into it (Banjo, M20/M21 etc)

I like LC/LJ's but if I were going to change anything, I would make the rear wheel arches higher.

DID SOMEONE SAY LAP TIMES ????
Lets look at the Legend :

Panorama 1972 Peter Brock XU1 Lap Time (2:36.5 (141.98 km/h))

Panorama 1979 Peter Brock A9X Lap Time (2:21.1 (157.47 km/h))

Quote from movie: "Tango & Cash"
Cash: "Cumon, why does yours have to be bigger than mine?"
Tango: "..Coz it IS... peewee"

LOL :tease:

LH's & LX's are better. haha :P

Cheers,
Rick.

LC/LJ's are Classic, not Plastic... Can't say the same for most LH/LX's, can you boys?

Tim

Apart from the racing options for the L34 and A9X, where is all the extra plastic?

Fibreglass is far lighter than steel, doesn't rust, doesn't dent and to a degree is quite strong and flexible.

Should the spoilers and flares be steel ?

Who cares anyway ?

I would rather have full fibreglass panelling than full steel panelling...

Who gives a shit - Built Not Bought - all Toranas have plastic in them!

I reckon that an LH/LX with a full on metal widebody style kit would look awesome... Not just wide arches, but wide guards... I'll try a Photochop later :D

You havent won yet dont get to cocky brewster early days still .You sure you lh/lx boys didnt vote twice.thats the only reason youre in front me thinks. :D

I've only voted once, and thats all you can do with one log on, although, I've noticed alot of new registered members with LC/LJ on the end of their names, I think you boys are up to something.

Wait, poll check, we're still out in front! :spoton:

In all fairness, a Torana is a Torana, and Muzza, your car is a little beaut! :spoton:

However, another word for but, I really do think that the LC/LJ combo was an Australian manufacturers attempt at making a rice burner! :tease:

Well ive been here for a fair whack of time so you lose that argument! bahaha.

You could say that the LH/LX was an attempt to see how far they could go, aerodynamically speaking, with a house brick on wheels :P

Not true, I was viewing this forum before your established date, and I've been on the surface of the earth a lot longer, so you don't win!

Besides....we're still in front! And there's alot of LH/LX owners, fence sitting! :tease:

Yeah, Rim can handle the fact that Nobody agrees with him!

First of all the LH/LX wins
Then the Flares win over Flareless!

2 Door Vs 4 Door is his last resort!
