Are you going?? I would love to get up there! I would love to go but think I would need a new mortgage to pay for the gas! Closer to home we have the Americana weekend in New Plymouth, but I don't have a yank tank to go to that with.

Got my car back today
exhaust and other little niggly bits done. On the way home my trans got hot as im only runing oil thru the bottom of the radiater so oil cooler is next on the list after I recover from the bill for the exhaust.

Hey,
do I need to upgrade my springs and shocks for cert? and any other little snags you can think of that I may need to take care of before I take her in? certs for 308, th350, 9 inch, commy rear disks and hq front (its rts) also should I box the lower trailing arms before cert?? Im sure plenty of you have been here before me so any tips would be great.

Cheers
Nick.

Yeah I know most garages don't like the pipes infront of the rears here too unless you can get them like 200mm away from the door opening or something but I really wanted that look so asked the guy whos going to do the cert and he's sweet with it much to my suprise, just cant get it certed anywhere but there.. hmm maybe hes onto something lol.

Do you think I should put a driveshaft loop on before I take it in? it cant hit the deck becouse the exhaust sits under it but???

I think it used to be disallowed to exit the exhaust under an opening window..

The rules don't say anything about the position of the exhaust, just that it has to clear the passenger compartment (or something along those lines). However the commonly accepted solution is to exit rearward of all openings but to the letter of the law that's not required, just have to get someone to pass it for warrants and somehow also convince any cops that may question it. Note that you can't certify exhaust changes, its a WOF issue only.

If you've made any driveline modifications definitely put a loop in and make sure it is a proper one - I got mine certed recently and got caught out with this.

Hiya, been doing abit on the car, here is the latest pics, what I'v done since last post is.......
Rekit proportioning valve, new hq vented front rotors drilled for the two stud patterns same as the rear so I can fit torana wheels and hq, drive shaft loop, thru some new back tyres on, new low a9x spec king springs (sits way better now, folded cover for fan, new front brake lines, prob heaps more but in a rush as I goda pack the shed for our big move in 2 days, shes going in for cert tomorrow   Im just so happy

have also refitted all the flares and they sit real good now, and its had a good polish, cant wait to get it out and about :spoton:
