This came up in the 'Big Torana or Little Torana' poll, and I thought I'd create another one here...

How do you like your LH/LX's? With the Kit or without?

I prefer mine unmolested, personally :spoton:

I am still doing battle with the hubby to get the flairs on Ruby. I have managed the hornet scoop, bobtail and spoiler. Just gotta persist.

Tuff torries are the SLR, A9X and L34.

Then u have the tuff sleepers as well.

I luv the full muscle look.

XXKAZXX

p.s. i havent had a chance to catch up with the other thread big v's small. BUT Big and Black is all good :tease:

I've always liked, and preferred, big Toranas Chop Chop... The LJ just happened to be in the right place at the right time...

Kaz, SL/R's didn't come with flares, remember ;) And a Hornet scoop? Why?

I love the flares, but the LX that MYLJ is painting for me has nice straight wheel arches and people are telling me not to flare it

I love flairs, however to cut through both the rear skins on a neat hatch then clamp em' together and weld them up, I couldnt do it.

I don't know which way to vote. I like both. I love flare-less but there is not a day that goes by that I wish I had big fat tough flares and wheels to match. Nothing worse that flares and cheese cutters.

I Chose Flared....

But.

Our SL/R if it were to get5 built would be unflared.

Theres good and bad on both sides, and i have seen some amazing cars both flared, and unflared.

at the end of the day....I like flared hatches, and both styles of 4 doors!

Not changing camps chop. Always loved my little Torries and always will.

BUT. if i ever get around to doing another project car, and it happens to be a torana, it will be either a LX or UC hatch. If its a UC naturally it will be converted to LX status....

Mind you i also wanna build a XW falcon and either a Pontiac Parisiene or a Chev Impala, but all of them will probably never happen if i keep buying motorbikes :P.

Definitely flared and with big rubber.

Anything else looks like granny's shopping trolley! or a car that mum uses to drop the kids off at school.

I love both but for me its unflared. Its like a beautiful woman or something. Of course flares look mean and the rubber under the guards is priceless but the sleek lines of unflared is pure beauty!

Gawd, I don't have a voting option. I don't mind them either way, so long as the wheels fill the guards/flares then they both look ace. Wish I had a pic of my first Torrie with the hotwires, it didn't have flares, but fully filled the guards. Yella fills the flares and then some.

Full kit for me all the way!!!

Yes, unflared LH's and LX's (and especially LX hatchbacks) look nice if done up right, but for that all-out muscle car look, you cannot beat the full kit, flares, spoilers, fatties, droptank etc.... there are no other cars on the road like them, they stand out from a mile away!! Plus, it also ties in the whole Bathurst race car thing to them as well.

Most of you know I like originality but I really admire a tough Torana fully flared and phatt wheels.

However if it is a GTR, XU-1, SL/R 5000, Hell 34, SS or A9X then leave them as factory.

As for the S and SL ..... tart 'em up :spoton:

The only mod I would do with my SS is a drop tank as living out here in the country, the original tank is not crash hot on long trips.

Regards .................... Barry
