well, we can see this thread has strayed enough and someone is getting upset so I think at this point it has outgrown it's usefulness
Just to answer the last question, fader controls the ammount of music or volume to front and rear. Rear speakers were an accessory item and as part of that package required a seperate control, remember it was the 70's.
