Hi can anyone confirm if the wreath on the original HF 1000 stickers changed colours over the years? In 1974 I think it was silver not gold? I know they were gold some years though (not trying to pick holes in the stickers, just keen to know) thanksis this what you're after...
cheers
Mick

I will try and explain where they all fit in the timeline of the HF500/ 1000.
The first sticker used was this one
This was used on the cars from 1969 - 1972
The next change was when the event went to 1000km.
This was used during the years, 1973, 74, 75 & 76
The next change to the design was in 1977 where they used the one with the "blue ball" in the centre of the wreath.
The next change to the design was where they changed the ball colour in the wreath from blue to red
This was used during the years 1978 - 1980 at least.
Now here comes the confusion... a number of teams would "cut down" the sticker so it wouldn't take up so much "real estate" on the cars. so what they would use is this
This one was used in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 (and probably 1980 and 1981)
I hope that this has helped...
BTW, if anyone has a copy of the "blue" and "red" ball type sticker, I would dearly love to get a scan of them for the collection..
cheers
Mick
