Didn't touch the dissy at all. Seem to have got it running ok by turning the dizzy a little bit. I'll see how I go. Thanks to allDid you touch the points at all? Changing the point gap will affect the timing...

Looked at the dizzy gear again, 1 little tooth is stripped. Would that cause much of a problem. I got it like that off ebay and put it in and it ran fine?
Thanks Rodomo

If o.k. check for spark from a plug lead.
If o.k it might be flooded?

The fuel condenser looked abnormally full when I looked at it. I remember 1 little tooth on the dizzy gear was stripped. Could that possibly be the cause? It made no problem before.Check for spark from coil.

Can't check spark now left it at a mates house 10 mins away..

and secondly, WHY?
Pull the cap and have someone crank the motor, watch the points and see if they spark.
P.S. why on earth did you fit a dizzy with a tooth missing????

Nah I've got an electronic dizzy.Oh, I get it, he still has points?
I will take the cap off tmorrow and see if it sparks, sweet as.
To re-gap for HEI, I did as you said. Took the plugs out and re-gapped to 1.12 - 1.15 mm as you said.
Sorry if my actions annoy you Terry. My brain has not fully developed yet

Why? Should I just stick a screwdriver and get zapped then? Works every timeYou will see nothing with the cap off, no spark at least under there.

You wont see sparking with no points, best install a plug into a lead and earth out with a jumper lead to check for spark (put ur screw drivers away)
Does the stator (the spiked wheels inside) move sideways and touch each other?
I never said to re gap the plugs, quite the opposite actually.

Had to turn the dissy basically the other way around to get it to start.
Idles at 1000+ rpm and pings badly under load.
Whats the diagnosis?
