308 identification

what 308 do i have qt9957** ch8?
As far as i know the motor is stock runs well dosent blo smoke not sure wat thou ova it is thou , plan is to giv it a freshen up mabe fit some pro comp alloy vn heads a lumpy cam, mid rise manifold,650 holley and swap it from my 4 door into my 2 door lj. also how would i check to make sure the motor hasent been stolen in the past ect, b4 i go throwin money at it? thanks.

its out of a kingswood, looks to be pre pollution. although if CH8 is the casting number it would be pollution.

I would steer clear of the pro comp heads but thats just me

It's a HZ 308 block, from just before the Zx series of engine numbers started (as the Qx series reached 999999 mid HZ).
