As the title says how do you adjust Koni shockers?
I recently bought a set ( secondhand) and for the life of me can't work out how to adjust them. The front ones look like they may need a tool to turn the top sleeve in or out (havn't tried yet) but the rear ones look like the are welded like a normal shock. And before anyone asks they both have" adjustable" stamped on them. they are Red fronts # 80 2156sp1 and the rear are yellow #80 2299sport
Am I missing something?

Take them out of the car.

Compress them fully.

Turning the top relative to the bottom you will engage a screw thread.

Turning clockwise makes the rebound stiffer, turning anticlockwise makes it softer.

I usually start at full stiff, then back off 1.5 turns.

Note the adjustable shocks are rebound adjustable only, and the yellow shocks softest setting is about the stiffest of the red shocks.

Got the rears sorted out, but the fronts are another story can i post you a pic struggler 'cos i dont think the fronts are the same as yours. If i depress the front i cant turn them at all. It looks as though i might need a tool to turn wher the shaft enters the body as ther are two opposing holes there that look like they need a similar tool to an angle grinder to turn the top in or out of the body.
bit hard to explain.

Sounds like they are fully adjusted one way or the other and jammed.

The holes you are refering to are to disassemble the shock.

Keep at it, you will loosen them up. If in doubt take them down to a suspension shop, they may have seized.

just paid 550 for rears only. mermaid suspention. on the gold coast . highly recommended.

At that price you are far better with Bilsteins B46-0154

Does any one know if u can fit rear commodore IRS shocks to my LH? I just got my hands on some Konis for nothing (near brand new!) they look like they would fit if i knock the tube out of the bottom rubber mounting. Cheers

if there a low sedan irs shock the lenght will be close, if its a standard height sedan be too long, standard wagon be ok if its lowered, lowered wagon will be too short.
and also depends on if konis lower bushes are a push in or vaulcanised in, push in might be able to remove and change.

they were out of a lowered ute and the bushes are pressed in. Might be too short?

sorry dudes,only just got a chance now. part numbers on my boxes.are ...rear 802299. front 802156sp1. koni adjustable for lh/lx. do these numbers sound rite?.what a difference theyve made.

These are the ones I used... I had no one to really be able to check with, so just tried to match them up to what was on the car as best as I could. (I probably would have asked here for parts numbers but was way before I knew this place existed, lol) They seem to do the trick though !
