Today a few of the guys headed up to Katoomba for a run. We did a walk around the track, it's a shame to see it going downhill fast. I don't know why but there was a huge load of dirt and rubbish on the main straight and what appeared to be damage to the tarmac from the grader that put it there. I certainly hope they decide to preserve this a little better in the future.

I had a sensational day. It was great to see so many GTR/XU1s out on a run, along with a good variety of other Australian muscle cars.

I had my camera on the wrong setting for much of the day, so didn't get many good photos. Here is a small selection......

Don't you love the slots cut in the boards for pit crew to get over the fence in a hurry

Great pics, thanks for posing guys :spoton:

Gotta say its a shame to see the track in such a sorry state of disrepair, by all accounts a pretty crazy track to race on and there's a lot of history there that is dissapearing...

Guys, this run was organised by the Australian Muscle Car Club. They only invite members from an email list, and they have strict rules on who can join. When I joined they knocked back an SV5000 because it had aftermarket rims! They only allow genuine factory muscle cars in close to original condition, I was actually surprised to see the black hatch there as iit was heavily modified, I would say it was a friend of a member along for the drive. Don't shoot the messenger, but this is the reason I didn't post anything prior to the event, I'm only a member not holding any position, so I would be going against their rules to invite non members.

That was the first of those runs that I've been to and it was great, very relaxed and enjoyable.

If anyone wants contact details so they can be notified of the next run then P.M me and I'll reply with the information you need. I've already done this for Keith. The only reason I won't post them directly is that I'm unsure if they'd want me to do so.

You just send an email and as RED says you'll be added to the distribution list if you have a close to factory standard car.

Well I got a phone call while I was at work about the day as this is my hometown! I left work early and went to have a look. It was great saying all these original cars it made my day!
I had to park my car up the st from the gathering as I had only just got back from Lake Cargeliggo which is like a 7 hour drive out west and the car was filthy, I was to embarassed.
It was good though!
