Just got back from the funeral. It was a good service - it was obvious to all that Daryl had had a full and fun life, was loved by his family, and had very many good friends.

Although it rained fairly heavily, a decent sized gaggle of LC/LJs, a few Monaros and an A9X cruised there to send him off. 24C was in pride of place.

The last HTC run that Daryl was on was our annual Torana run up to Mannum. He had a ball on the cruise, and commented that it was a pity that we couldn't cruise like that every weekend. We will be running this event each year in March/April as a "Daz Cruise" - all types of cars welcome. I'll post some details when we've nailed down a date for it.

losing a Torana enthusiast is as bad as losing a Torana. They can never be replaced. Vale Daz.

well daz i hope you liked the send off we gave you and all the cars we could get :spoton: even though i wasn't able to speak there were so many things i wanted to say but was unable to. i was not to bad until we got there and i saw the torana parked in front of the chapel then i lost it :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: and that was the end of me and my family :cry: : :cry: :cry: .i just dont think you relised mate how many friends you did have and how many people loved you so until we meet again cruise hard and i will see you on the other side.

a huge thank you to alf,greg,mark & jennine,dave & mia,campbell, & cheryl,chris & kaz,mark & selina,wayne,phil,darky,ian,julian,pete,mike,and anyone else i have missed having yous there made a big difference to me and my family.


and to larry mate what can i say with all the heartache in the past two weeks you did daz proud he would have been so chuffed of the way you spoke about him and all the organising of his funeral you are a true mate.

Bugger me! Only just catching up as had spell in hospital & rehab,
This news makes my dramas pale into insignificance.
Only had a few contacts with Daz via PMs & the phone. Top bloke
