Below is the VHT product.
Do a search, just incase I've got the wrong VHT paint, as there has been a thread on this previously. Can't find the can to confirm, but it may have been Chev Rocket Red. Not sure now.

With the cast aluminium, I've tried all sorts of things, including cleaning it all up and clear coating. The best result was obtained, IMO, with VHT Heat Proof Silver.

Rocket red is actually an orange not red colour or pink like these spray packs are . Motospray and VHT (which used to be good ) are poor quality and have poor adhesion and durability . You need to use the what the factory used which is what i sell in spraying enamel and spray it out of a gun using Dulux/PPG the original paint manufacturer . Even their quality has wained quite a bit over the last 10 years to compete which is annoying . As for the gear box centre body i sell that all also and the correct colour is called "Special red "(looks like red oxide). As for your bell housing water jet /vapour blasting is the best and only method to give it the proper factory look . Sandblasting makes it look dried out and hardens like panel steel and seems to upset the properties of the metal for good . Hope this helps restorers . Cheers James 03 9505-6404

The alloy used to come up mint in a Trichlorethylene bath, prob very enviro illegal now, so the next best thing is "Soda Blasting" doesn'y give it that destroyed dull look of sand blasting
