I remember when it was an immaculate stock 2 door (A LONG TIME AGO NOW!)
Its currently back to gloss black and pulling some decent numbers AFAIK

That was a hell of a tough looking car. Does anyone else remember it and have pics of it?

It look good from a distance , but personally , I didn't like all the detailing he did on it. He smoothed every seam off the car.

I remember it , had original magnesium 8's and 9's. From memory he claimed the engine was done by Gricey's old mechanic.

I can see why purists might not like what was done to the car for obvious reasons, but I love the look of those fat sprintmasters and the ultra low stance.
If I were to ever build up an LJ, it would be along the lines of this one in appearance.

This is the article from Street Machine April-May 1989.
According to the article, engine was built by David McLean at Maitland Performance Centre (he used to be on Alan Grice's pit crew).

what about some of the others like the LJ boys who have chrome headlight surrounds. Are they just anodised, polished until mirror finish? all this finish crap is confusing as hell!
