I've probably lost about 20 - 30 miles out of tank. So about 40 - 50ks

I used to get 300 miles from a tank, now i go looking for servos around 260. Thats a 68 litre gas tank btw... i used to put 62 - 65L in there for 300 miles

I would have to look at my fuel book to get exact figures.

It will throw raw fuel out of the exhaust and sound great at idle like it should :spoton:

My theory is Performance = Fuel + Money :tease:

You can't run an XU-1 cam without lossing some fuel economy. If you would like i can go through my fuel book and have a better look and give you a more accurate figure of what economy i was getting before and after the cam.

best fuel effecient combo i ran on an lj was

202 blue block with a red yella terra head
bert jones cam 27/73
extractors
4 spd 3.08 lsd
electronic dizzy out of a valiant (believe it or not)
2 barrel down draught weber off a dato 1600 (mechanical secondaries)

would get just on 400ks out of tank (45L)

Steve I wouldn't mind betting on that your economy will improve when you put your ported head on.

I would expect it to use more fuel actually Pete. But since i write down details of every tank i put in the thing it won't be too hard to work out.

Fit a thermo fan. The std one is using power to run it and 90% of the time you don't need the fan spinning.I pulled the one on my 6 cyl hz ute off in Feb and its only gotten warm once!Mind you,i will have a thermo fan on 4 summer.SE Qeensland.

the weber was commonly used on dato's in the 80's can't remember which type but i'm sure any old wreckers would still have them
