I assume you didn't get the picture flat on the scanner for the first one? Would explain the strange twist.

Nice car, and great attitude
I know, the muffler/tailpipe are wrong, but hey, it sounds realllly good!
Build them for yourself, not how other people think they should be.
Doesn't look to be far off finished

and went from herringbone to houndstooth? any reason? the houndstooth looks better in the torry anyway, and matches the hornpad.

I gotta ask, whats the go with the boot in the second last pick??? Early morning dew, reflection off the sky or did you forget to paint it
Any way, looks stunning mate. Love it.
Cheers.

Ha...this was the first (or second) roll out of the shed ... the stuff on the boot is simply a bit of dust, and yes, right first time - 2K paint. The interior is sandalwood and from my reckoning, the herringbone trim wasn't original - the trim plate indicates houndstooth trim. This was an original 'shed find' (paid $3K, 14 years ago) still had the original, untouched 2600S engine, opel box AND (according to Bazza) a factory fitted LSD. It's currently insured for $40K. My wife can't believe it'd be worth more than her new MY08 Imprazza!Very very nice, 2k paint job??

I had a heap of fun putting it together and get stacks of looks when out on the road. The pics are a little old, that is, I've fitted the GTR badge on the bootlid and will be picking up the grille and headlamp facias tomorrow. (had them polished and re-anodised!)
Love to hear any other comments or advice on originality. (have a choke blank in the shed too!)

Maaaate...didn't know LC GTR's had anchor points for baby seats? Congratulations on the new arrival. When I mentioned my 'wife'...well, she's new too - 1 week today! At least she knows what she's getting in to! I've previously restored a MK1 Cooper S and hope to screw together a PRB clubman as the next project. Definitely need to catch up and compare notes. I have some photos of your car from Birdwood Mill Museum. Cheers, Tom.Nice car gtr2600s, we need to catch up as your previous PM, just had a baby girl so been a little busy latley

What paint colour or mix did you use for under the bonnet? it looks awesome and factory

As far as the under bonnet colour, I asked the painter to go for the original blue/black colour. His response was 'ahhhh...yes, I know the one'! The rest was up to him!

Are you happy with the nolathane replacements rather than rubber ones?
