Hi guys, I was going to grab a set of Rare Spares dress rims, however at over $500 they seem a tad expensive. Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they worth the $?

Daryl (bullitljv8) bought a set for his LC GTR, and said that they were the best repro product he'd ever bought... Bloody expensive though!'

Please take this thing out with a mate who knows what he's doing with a camera and get some photos that give it justice. You can tell that it's an awesome quality car but there are no good pics of the whole thing! :)

Thanks for all the comments, it's been a great project and kept me off the streets for a while. Heaths right, the pics are more of a progressive nature rather than of the whole project. Hopefully I can get it out, take some better photos of the whole car and get them up on the forum..

Cheers, Tom

There's also some news.

The car will be on the market later this year, however, if someone offers the right level of funds, I will sell earlier.

There are several reasons but the most pertinent one is the fact that I simply can't drive it due to a congenital spine problem. The offset steering geometry really gives me a hard time, together with the lack of power steering, it sits in the shed when it really should be on the road.

Thats too bad. I reckon you should just leave it in the shed. Set up a comfortable armchair, a stereo and a beer fridge within reach and just look at a it......The
LC GTR is a beautiful thing............... :D :D :D

I wouldnt sell a car like this. Its an investment. Either find some nice seats and fix the column or keep it in the shed and take it out once every six months, but dont sell it.

OK, points taken but remember there are other reasons too - wifey and I are looking at building a new home (long story here..), funds would be really handy, but also remember, I'm not going to 'give' it away, any prospective owner would need to be prepared to pay for it's worth. Also worth noting that theres no hurry here. Rego runs out in 10 days or so, so the cotton wool will be needed soon.

This is an awesome car. It is a shame you have to sell it. The car is a credit to your hard work.

Hi Bill, thanks for the response, not too sure about the use of the word 'Perfection', but I will add I'm happy the way it turned out. Must admit though, I had a pretty genuine starting point, straight body and original running gear...living in Adelaide also gave me easy access to Dash Original etc.., couldn't really go wrong.. :D

Thanks Phillip, hard work? I think labour of love is a little more accurate, was great fun putting it together and I think the result shows this.

Cheers,

Tom
