The total price for both is less than half of what i payed for the absolute piles of garbage i got from the other wanker.
If there a useable product then it will just go to show who we should support.
Cheers.

Should probably let this cat out of the bag, I have a pair, and have had for a few days now. Review is up and coming, but all i can say is at this point dont even consider the other set. These ones are really good.
Cheers.

Thanks for reminding me DJ. Tony said he was expecting the LJ headlight bezels in on Monday. Will try to get into Rares tomorrow and check them out.

THeres a few things im not 100% happy with, but im looking at them from my perspective.
Incredibly minor tooling marks in the aluminium under the anodising, and the mask for the blackouts isnt quiet right....These things are most likely as per factory, as i highly doubt they were totally perfect from factory.
THe tooling is perfect though, so these are THE base even if you choose to strip and polish as i will probably end up doing.
For the price, im really pleased with the product. Could they do better if they were twice the price (so the same price as the oppositions rubbish)? Possibly, but then they may not suit concourse.
Need to line up a couple of mates with LJ's to test fit them in a few different cars before i finish my proper review, so guestimate a week away.
Cheers.

Some acrylic lacquer thinners should remove it if polish won't.

If you don't have any thinners then "borrow" The Mrs nail polish remover as a tiny bit of acetone will remove that cleanly......

bomber hi the rare spares lj head light surrounds
im also checking out the lj head light surrounds that have just arrived and my testing is done on a unmolested lj,xu1 the passenger side
fits perfectually 98%, as it lines up nicely, i will be testing the drivers side over the weekend the color black im happy with which is almost the same as an original, as for the tooling i found that its very good the only thing i found was the top circle in black isnt quite the same as a genuine one but very close indeed and hard to pick once it was on the torana
but apart from that i believe that they are a very good copy the only thing i found was aluminium being a slightly different color to a genuine one
but on the overall i believe that the quality of these surrounds are very good to exellent in detail
would i buy a pair for my cars
the answer is yes i wouldnt hessitate
and for the money i belive that they are great value
my 2 bobs worth
regards aldo

rare spares head light surrounds for the LJ torana
hi i had time today to fit the drivers side surround as im doing my own testing on the quality on the LJ headlight surrounds
well i couldent be happier as it fits perfect, i had no trouble in fitting it
and there were no gaps between the surround and the body,
for all the forum guys that are waiting for a rating on them,
well im very pleased with the quality
1 the black outs, very good almost spot on couldnt tell the difference with a genuine one
2 the surrounds themselves in making, exellent for repos
3 fitment onto car exellent they fitted perfectually
i would have no trouble in giving them a 9/10
as i said earlier the aluminium slightly differs in color probebly due to metals
4 a n exellent repo
my 2 bobs worth
regards aldo
ill see what the other forum members think

Good afternoon all,
Yesterday we visited Aldo(1973bathxu1) to check the fitment of our Rare Spares' headlight surrounds (HLR1006 and HLR1007) once again on an LJ. We took some pictures, see below. The test LJ although a little worse for wear paint wise looked to be quite original and accident free in the front end. We believe fitment was quite good.
Regards,
Edan

Martin,
There were some rejected from the first shipment. However what is now available for purchase from the stores and in our warehouse has good paint masking comparable to genuine samples.
Regards
Edan
