Good call, what a waste to have it deteriorating like that. Especially considering how unique it is, fark that car desserves to be appreciated. Why not just put it in a motor museum,at least it would be well looked after & probably stored for free while it's value continues to grow.

Passed "LITRE8" behind tow car on either the M7 or the Hume Highway, early on Thursday morning in Sydney.Hehehehe, that would be Howard and Litre8 who is on here. For me, one of the stand out memories from late 80's early 90's SM was SLR 8000. That thing was a beast and was one of the cars that really got me interested in the car scene.
Here you go:- http://www.litre8.com/
Hadn't seen the car before in person or on here, but a quick search of SLR 8000 brought up this thread.
What a weapon!@! Great looking car. Really loved seeing it!
I was with some workmates on our way to an IT conference. Don't worry.... after seeing it, they were all interested, so I educated them well on Torana's, SLR's, and stuff....

I remember seeing the car in the flesh at "Hot wheels?" in Brisbane.
The owner really didn't look after it! Big dent in the p/s front rim, black paint peeling off the chrome window surrounds. Generally untidy.
I was also pouring over the story in SM. I was disappointed when i saw the car!
There was a pearl white 70ish camaro with multi candy stripes in the same issue.
It also was on the lot. SM raved about how good the paint was.
It wasn't! Unless you call uneven pearl stripes with tape peal 'great'!
The yellow HK munro wasn't a SM give away car, from memory.
They also gave away a green HT Munro, XY GT3, XB Hardtop, The "white pointer" A9X hatch, "scorcher", what else...........? Galaxy......

The hq for you was left in a padock after being side swiped buy a truck in the 80s, its lucky its still around. I thought the A9X was better looked after with doors left ajar so the rubbers would not be kinked, buy the sounds of its having a rough time.
