Imagine the interest if there was XY GT HO phase 3 with only 14.4 km's or the equivelent in miles on the clock

It would certainly be museumised, so why not Holden's greatest production race car

Immortilised, and the way it was produced from the factory, all for future generations to appreciate

Well thats my opinion anyway

but i read somewhere museums charge you to show your car thier

Yep, what a joke. I wanted to display my 1930 Buick, the only one in the country and one of only 807 made and they wanted to charge me $1000 a month to display it. I told them to stick it. I could build a shed after a few months.

The museum should be paying you if they want your car, they'd pay for any other rare display piece

There is something about the Street Machine A9X in this months Australian Muscle Car. I just saw it at the newsagent.

yeah we got that, thats' why we are now debating the merits of drive the car as it was meant to or stick it in a museum to die.

Ferrari build the odd special addition high-po performance car. and they have a policy of only selling those cars to race drivers who will race / drive them or people who have previously brought Ferraris and driven them they will not sell their special cars to those whom they think will stick them in a museum

I am sure Red will correct me on this but even Holden would not sell their L34 to those who didn't previously race their product

There are only about 50 flying examples of Spitfire in the world, while I have seen a few in museums the greatest buzz and pleasure I have had and a memory I will carry to the grave is being buzzed by one while riding my motorbike, and later being given a chance to get up close and personal in the same plane

When the guys that designed and build the cars did their thing, do you think they dreamed one day this car will be good enough to stick in a museum gathering dust, or to be the ultimate driving machine of the era to be driven and enjoyed

Yes there are risks with using these machines, but they are only plastic and metal and the can be repaired

It was was a bit emotional for me, yes a dream come true and yes imagined flying it, throwing it around the sky and then very sad, a lot of very young men lost their lives in machines like this a lot of bright promising futures never lived, she is a beautiful machine crafted and designed gracefully and rightly the stuff of legend, but also built to kill human beings and occasionally the coffin for their pilots. I have sat in a quite a few planes and even flown a couple, but never did it feel like this.

I have always had an interest in military history and relics especially WW2 aviation, but most differently not a fan of military action and war, life is too precious to waste because some politician wants to make history.
