I have a set of 14in Delta rims in commodore stud pattern that i would love to put on my LX torry to give it a super old-school look. But before i put them on they need a bit of a clean-up, my question was how do i get all the old chrome off? i have tried sanding but this will take years and i have some selleys paint stripper on atm and im hoping it might do a better job of it. Does anyone know of any tricks or tips that would make this job easier for me?

Yeh, my dad has a small air compressor operated air compressor that i tried but it wasnt really powerful enough. The sand seemed to just bounce off. How much would a proffesional job cost?

I can't see sand blasting removing chrome in a hurry if at all.
I would call chrome plating co. for a price.

Those rims would only be about $130 each new? By the time you pay for stripping and re chroming I would shop around first.

yeah, i realise that they arent worth alot. The plan was to just do a bit of a quick fix to get me through while i save for some bigger rims. I have realised that it will prob take more than i first thought to get the chrome removed. Maybe i could just spray over the top of the chrome????

you can spray them what ever colour you like with the usual paint preparations but nothing will make them look like chrome.

give them a good polish and touch up the rusted bits with chrome paint if you just want to chuck them on for the sake of having chromes.
