Anyone know if the O ring on the big nut in the proportioning valve is still available as a part?..Mine fell apart when I was washing it.

Actually I knew that but didn't offer it as a suggestion because they are bloody hard to get hold of... ha! Any HZ with rear discs will be good, didn't realise the only difference is the spring...?

Did you try it disabled to see how it went first?

Not yet but if it has a 450cp it will have to be close.

Yeah so how hard is it to do this to a LC/LJ? Does the housing need cutting down? Or can I play with different offset wheels to make it fit?

you would need to cut the housing down for sure.

Some one here did it into LJ with offset wheels and no cutting.

Hey Rorym,
Did you find any of the those Statesman anodised 450cp Prop valves at the wreckers?
This is speculation but you might be able to find them on V8 wagons with 4WDisc too I suspect.
If so I would be interested to see if the spring is the same as the picture as when I dismantled it the prop valve it seemed slightly skewed,
possibly suggesting it was tampered.

BTW: That photo of the dismantled prop valves is one I took a while back when when fixing a mates Statesman SLE brakes.
Had to unseize the prop valve. :)

I did some searching around here after I posted that and I found that LHoon bloke fitted one in his LJ 2 door without cutting it down, just used some front wheel drive offset wheels.

I sent him a PM with some questions, just waiting for his reply. If thats the case I'll definitely go down that path.

In addition to that I found out that all R31 Skyline's are a 4x114.3 offset which is the most common 4 stud pattern (that and 4x100). I think a solution could be to re-drill axles and brakes to Torana pattern and then get a set of Astra 5 stud steel wheels (same stud pattern as Torana) which will solve the front wheel drive offset problem with the BW diff and you can keep a set of matching wheels. I didn't want to have to go 4 stud on the back.

im think about doin this in my lh 308 manual, it looks like a great idea...

just have 2 question. does it matter if the diff was out of an auto or manual
and a sedan or wagon skyline...??

Had mine especially made with the Nissan end on the diff and the Foord one on the gearbox...as long as you have enough lenght thats fine.

Slightly shorter than the standard driveshaft due to the flange on the diff end, so no worries with a standard one being long enough. I have F__d pinion and driveshaft flanges on mine, much bigger uni

Just read through.. great work, looks pretty simple to set up the handbrake too. Rory, did you get the skyline axles re- drilled to hq pattern? how did you get the discs? are they skyline items re-drilld to hq pattern aswell?

I got the axles filled and re-drilled to HQ pattern, and bought blank discs and drilled to suit (used the axles as a template). I think Rory did something slightly different

Yep...No dramas as the wheels hold the discs on...I will get blanks redrilled like 76LX did for this car.
