Hi Guys,first of all I must explain that I stumbled on your forum while seeking info on a certain SMP XU-1 which I got involved with way back in 2001 or .2002. My web search took me to page 2 of your SMP section so I was fascinated to read about this UK based car. In fact I was even more gobsmacked when I reached the photo,s of it especially the one which has the words" NOT MOVED IN 21 YEARS!" written under it because in fact I wrote those words! I supplied all those photos but cant remember who to. The comments bu XU-2 are correct but thats not all of the story. It was me who actually tracked down that car onto a farm shed in the Worcestershire countryside. I did visit OZ in 2002 and attended a Sydney Torana club meet to show the guys my SMP pics so maybe those pics were left with somebody at that meet.Anyway I,m happy to tell more of this story if you,re interested either here on the open forum or if you prefer by PM for privacy reasons. Your forum post seems to go quiet after Nov 2009 so I,d love to know what happened to this car, did it get back to OZ?who owns it?is it being restored?Is it finished? Looking forward to reading your comments!!! P.s. I do still have many photos of the car and can try and put them on the forum but my computer skills are zilch being an old f--t so it may take a while.

l want to sell this car......... .done 46,000 miles only , was bought new down here in Gore Southland . l know the original owner and he bought it to tow his jet boat with . It has a long racing history , was used by one owner for the South Island production race car series . Has raced at Queenstown by the owner before me where it suffered it's one ( as far as l know ) accident in the left rear quarter . The car was painted yellow when l first bought it and l competed in 2 Dunlop Targas and assorted classic racing round the south island with it before l bothered to check the numbers and retired it from racing and had it repainted it's original SMP colour . Still has it's original front guards , jp block , correct head , M21 box etc . Does have a commodore crankshaft and Carrillo type H beam rods . New Zealand new car so only has 2 tags ..........both have never been removed from the car held with original rivets .
Any thoughts on what it's value might be ?
