SMP UK car - I know a bit of history on this car, VIN is H221936 Chassis 00451B. The guy who owned it was a personal friend of John Bagshaw and he arranged a tax free purchase through "Hunt Holden, Lakemba NSW. The original owner was a Sydneysider but now lives on the Gold Coast. Car was one of the first off the production line. Original plan for the car was to race it at Spa (Belgium) but owing to a change in racing rules and the time the car arrived it wasn't allowed to race. The owners toured Europe doing 28000 miles in 15 months. The guy who ownes it is the second owner and the car has about 50000 miles on the clock. I will try to post some pics.
Cheers

While we are on the subject of SMP... I believe the 72 LJ XU-1 308 SMP of Harry Firth had a rego of.... LEX 900....can anyone confirm this or have any pics as it still may exist.
In the Chevron HDT DVD and in A.M.C Mag Issue 9,The V8 XU-1 Story,Ian Tate says that HDT had the GMH SMP LJ XU-1 V8 Prototype at HDT HQ for awhile, and Ian drove it for a few weeks and he took his Friend across the Road from his place for a drive one night, and they must of been Speeding a little, and a Policeman chased them, but Ian got away, and Ian was mainly worried that the SMP Car was only Rego as a 6 Cyl not a V8.
So it had Vic Rego on it,Dont know if LEX.900 is its Vic Rego Number or not,but that is the Key to finding how long was it rego for etc.
In Wheels Magazine Feb. 1973 issue,Peter Robbo Robinson the Editor says Harry has two V8 Torana's at HDT HQ,and one was a Actual Engineering Protoype ????????? Waas this the SMP V8 Prototype.
Have you seen a SMP LJ XU-1 with LEX.900 Rego Number, LE number would roughly be about a May 1972 Number Plate.

LEX.900 Vic Number Plate
I rang Vic Roads today about Reg Number LEX.900
All they could tell me it was a 1972 Holden,Engine Number started with JP,so its a LJ XU-1
And its info was Archived in May 1985,so i will go through Vic Roads other department to find some more info, but this will take time as i will have to write to them and wait for a reply back from them.
