If you look closely its an LX woodgrain dash and hatch console, so was probably added to the car later on.
Awesome car BTW

Was it actually an L34 at any stage?

I was under the impression that is an L34 but not certain.

Spoke to Ron last night and yes he bought an original woodgrain dash and put it in.

Mmmm, I've never seen and LH SL/R (all motor sizes) or G-Pak with a woodgrain dash. They are all black grain finish.

L34's all left the factory with black dashes the same as the LH SLR5000. having said that there would be no reason the woodgrain dash could not have been retro fitted later or by the dealer. As Heath says, only the 4.2 and 3.3 SLRs had woodgrain dashes. Smooth black SLR ashtrays were not a factory thing, there were only 3 types, black grain finish, dark woodgrain and in the LX range they were all silver.

ACTUALLY 4 TYPES AS ABOVE AND VERY RARE LIGHT LX WOOD GRAIN SLR ASH TRAYS

Yeah I'm sure I've seen a light and a dark woodgrain.
