Front flares need trimming

Hi guys
I really like my new front 235/40/17's but they are srubbing the flares, just in front of the wheels towards the bottom (mainly just on one side unfortunately).
So, I am going to get the flares trimmed to cure the problem.
Does anyone have photo's where this has been done? I'm trying to ensure that they are sliced by just the right amount.
I think Nutboy may be on the money in the pic below, but the more pics the better.

On this point, can anyone recommend a good tradesman to do the job (in the Sydney, Wollongong, or Shoalhaven area)? You know, someone that would have done this type of thing before and knows exactly what I'm on about. Should be a real quick job for someone with half a clue (that excludes me!).

Thats the trimming i was talking to you about the other night Harve, try Wallys Paint and panel behind warilla grove there. Talk to him first then i would fiel or cut away myself until it was clear then let him tidy it up . Just do it little by little .

seems weird why they are rubbing, mine clear by a fair bit with no trimming, is there different style flares?

could have been put on wrong... sometimes you can undo the bolts in front stretch the flare and redrill it a few mm clear

Put on wrong I reckon, already corrected (re-drilled) reasonably well, but not well enough, so trimming looks like the only way to go.

Thanks Nutboy, SS Hatchback and Litre8.
I gave it a go and somehow it turned out ok, even with using the most advanced tools like a hack saw and wet & dry :huh:

A small price to pay to run decent size tyres - can hardly notice the difference, esp with the wheels on.

if its only one side i wonder if its coz it has more castor on that side pulling the wheel forward.

Oh, you trimmed down the back of yours as well. I don't think Yella's rear bit is trimmed.

I guess you mean cautious by taping the outline first, but it made things fairly easy, slow and steady was certainly the order of the day.
Bit hard to tell from the pic, but it looks to be a similar amount trimmed off as yours.
