G'day Mate

Did you manage to get rid of that airbag alarm that was coming up?

Cheers,

Thanks guys, Funny you should say that pat, I wanted it yella as im a big fan and painted my LC mustard yellow, but the missus shot me down with this one as we can't have 2 yella cars, wtf, why not?? So, purple it is!

YTsLH - Nah haven't sorted out the airbag alarm situation yet, was a bit over wiring so threw that one to side for time being lol. Gunna concentrate on getting it registered for now and can fiddle with it later. I went the wrong way about it all I think, I should have used a complete commodore loom, for engine, tranny, dash, ect. and kept all the modules in place and i'd be laughing. But ya get that!

I think either was a great choice, I did want to paint mine Purple like yours but then decided against it, because I did not want to be accused of being unoriginal etc. I have settled, ironically, on a very nice yellow. The exact colour will be a secret until it's painted and then shown on here.

Love your car though awesome guide and inspiration for everyone mate. I can't wait to see it all completed. Bet you won't be able to stop grinning haha. :buttrock:

There was a very nice ground up rebuild Torana on the hoist at Berklee Exhaust centre in Launceston last week when I took my Pacemakers in to have modified to clear the T56 in my HQ.
No idea whose it is, but the owner has obviously thrown quite a few pay packets at it.
Berklee were building a custom mandrel bent exhaust system for it at the time.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to see it finished either, I hope to have it on the road for this summer, but still a fair bit of time and money to be spent before she's out cruisin.

haha, Either way it's gunna be nice when you've finished. Looks like you had as much fun as i have with all the rust, Very riveting in places lol. All worth it in the end.

I like the wiper kit, that's something you don't see every day!

It's a nice little kit brett, very simple to install and gets rid of the wiper motor from the engine bay, although mine wouldn't fit anyway after I sat the motor in there.

after a few minor dramas with the flares, i've got them back and started fitting them. Rear one still needs a little bit of lining up and front ones are just sitting on there until i get the sill panel re-painted and then can be fitted properly.

Looks awesome, think you get away with the side stenciling not correct now with the flares. Dont even notice it. The wheel and colour combo is amazing and im not a big fan of big wheels.

Congrats mate.

Its starting to look suddenly like the photoshopped signature image. Well done on turning the concept into a reality.

The one thing I'm hoping you're planning to do though is chop down the front seats.

Not Coops Black SLR5000, but he getting there with it back together. There was a Black SLR5000 in the 1990's getting around Launceston with a Hot Tunnel Rammed 308 V8, the ram used to poke out through the A9X Scoop.

Thanks mitch, Pretty happy with it now, although the stenciling still bugs me a bit i think i'll get over it when it's registered and im cruising around everywhere. Will look a lot better once the sill panel black is done.

haha yeh it's funny, the missus is finally starting to get interested now it looks pretty, like the one we photoshopped to start with. Definately going to do something with the seats, have you got any hints/tips for me. Haven't really looked at them yet, but would like to do something about it.

I know this isn't a very imaginative suggestion but was thinking re-trimmed minus the headrests.

hi mate,
love the work progress and imaginative mind you've had to pull such a build off, my first idea was to but a VZ dash into mine but didn't have the know how to pull it off what you have done looks so factory, love the old school new school combo
thanks for sharing your progress especially on the back seat frame work it has helped me with mounting my bucket seats in the rear, still under construction.
great work once again
thanks efi5000lx
