Before he put that on, when it had the blower hanging out the bonnet on its lonesome....Now that made my panties go ping.
Litre8 aint a show car, its a race car that puts a lot of show cars to shame!!!
As for a fav on my part, honestly not sure, will do some thinking

have to agree with tim. The redcliffe dyno and performance LJ was awesome.
My brothers car now. De-tuned and street usable.

For a pic of Beauchanp's LX you would have to go back to SM magazine in the late '80's I think. His following project was a show-stopper pro-street Commodore, VL I think.
I think I remember Rob's VL. Was it a black tubbed VL or am I getting confused with something else?

I'd say best engineered show car, would have to be Litre8 , best drag/show car...this

- The silver LJ in the current Street Machine (with the blinged up Injector hat and billet blower)
- The green LH/LX that was kicking around Summernats and the show scene over the last couple of years - blown engine, highly detailed engine bay with the totally flat firewall - I will have to try and find a pic
- The Anaconda hatchback - for those who are into the graphics stuff

And LITRE8 doesn't qualify - it's a track car not show or drag, eh Howard?
Even though it's been a trailer whore showpony for quite a while now??
I'd vote for Mat's LT5 Hatch - but it's a daily not a show car........
dunno.

All comes down to peoples ideas on show car.... Like to me its the trailer queen cars that never see a wheel turn in anger.

Its attraction (again, less so these days) was the engineering package which, back in 1992, wasn't that common: big yet relatively light injected engine, manual gbox, big brakes and wheels yet it all looked reasonably innocent with everthing shut. It would never win any prizes for paint/panel/interior/undercarriage etc.
I just call it a toy and still indulge in the occasional track day and local show when time permits and, yes, its trailer bound.

Anything that masquerades about in licence plates when it could in no way be legally registered have no appeal to me. There was little function or form to the vehicle, and really, if you are after nice airbrushing? Go by a panel van.
re:Litre8 - just sinking the slipper into a good friend
Yes, I am one of the many, many people who are envious of the car (people came from NZ in 04 to see it!!) and one of the few to get a ride (nice eh Bomber? even at slow speeds).
It would put most dedicated show cars to shame even now, and considering some of the panel gaps in the current crop of so-called Elite cars, I think the old paint she carries around is fine.
Trophies are incidentals for Howard and they are just on a shelf in the corner of the garage - not out crowing about how good he is like some I know.
Grant..
PS. Howard - don't sell it short, just look at how often the name or a pic is invoked here. And I'm sure it will again pull a crowd in Newcastle - all the ppl who missed out last year.......Hmmm, backdrop for the members photo this year methinks.

Litre8 - certainly not a show car these days, it was only ever a fringe show car even when fresh back in 1992 (compared to the stuff done by Astill, Barclay, Fitzpatrick etc).
Thanks for that but your car back in 1992 is the car that started me of on my money pit
looks grate I thought back then I could build one better its now 2008 and am still not happy with it LOL
