I'm sure they are the same.

I have not seen anyone selling them new but you never know if there is "New Old Stock" out there.

Just bought a kit off e-bay, 2 doors, boot and ignition
around $120-with postage lh sedan
boot lock was different-had a spring to hold a bit of
flat rod about 3" long; Door locks have sliding clip
to mount "L" shaped lever.

Doh!

Should read with my eyes open :blink:

Lock mech!

Yea that part I think is different due to the icecream stick like extention required to activate the latch which is further away from the key hole in a hatch.

I think the solex way may be the best because you will at least have the same key all round.

Cheers

OK, i'll try and help?

(69 = sedan & 77 = hatch)

The GMH parts list shows,
1/ The same part number for the lock assy on sedan and hatch. 7421890 (69 & 77)
2/ The same part number for the lock and barrel. 2815103 (69 & 77)
3/ Different part numbers for the strikers 69 = 2810483 & 77 = 9934749

Hope thats clearer

LX2DR is right I compared the locking mechanism out of my LH to that of my mate's LX hatch & they are identical, however the striker is different, the hatch striker looks like the striker on my VL Commodore daily driver where as my LH is quite different. The plate that holds the lock cylinder in place looks different too on the hatch.

Yep, the lock cylinder retainers have different part numbers.

69 = 7432669

77 = 9934863

This looks like the striker I sold with my son's hatch lid. if you ask the seller for the part No. (on the packet) I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you if it suits Torana as well.

.................................................................Yes, you are correct! The hatch has 2 holes and my Bombadoor has only one. So this one won't do.

LH and early LX have a square boot striker. July onwards LX sedan and all hatches have the same U shaped striker.
