No Seriously!
We did 1.75 laps of the grounds and it was fantastic!
The quality and quantity of the cars on display was simply amazing, I think the HVTC have busted their guts and come up with the perfect arangement for a car show which invites top notch show cars to stand along side daily driven cars of which both owners take exactly as much pride.
ido9s: dont worry mate, I'm sure eveyone understands where your coming from, and for people who havent experienced a toranafest for themselves and those who are used to the traditional car shows where the biggest budgets win, Toranafest is something of an eye opener! I'm sure no one took offence mate!
The day was fantastic, and i apologise for my performance on the day... working 17 hours the day before just hammered me and i was really under the weather with less than 5 hours sleep under my belt! ( must be getting old hey!)
The meet and cruise up was amazing, Seeing the STC and associated group leave maccas was awesome and the drive up was as "interesting" as always with simone behind the wheel and BCR45Y only a "little squirt" away!
I really enjoyed catching up with those ive spoken with before, and equally those i got to finally put a face to the nicknames from here! We really do have the best forum with the best membership ever! Imagine so many different people with different likes and different cars enjoying the day at such an awesome event. We just enjoyed ourselves catching up with friends!
Congratulations to all those who wont trophies they are all well deserved!
I just cant get over how awesome the show was, catching up with everyone and the cruise to and from the show that was just great!
Apologies to those who i didnt get to catch up with ( Johngong! i did recognise you mate, Just didnt get back around to say Gday!) and hopefully catch up at TF09!
Cheers

Sorry I didnt catch you on the sunday, I came looking, but found your car, but not you!
Jeremy's brake caliper looked good! now he just needs the rest of the car!
I was contemplating taking it and sticking it in my boot, with a ransom note for him! but figured he might get a bit cranky! haha.
Car looked great though mate! that metalflake is bloody bright! and I can see jeremy's polishing skills are bloody great!

The Torailer was fantastic to tow, and made it up and back with no problems. I was very impressed with how my car performed on the way up as well, as I managed 480kms with a standard tank plus towing, so I was very impressed with that.
I would just like to make a special mention to Mick Mccardle who managed to take the time out from organising this fantastic event, to also design the Torailer stickers which are on the front and back of the Torailer. Mick volunteered to design these decals for me even though Toranafest 2008 was shaping up to be the biggest ever! It was a pleasure to meet you at the event Mick (even though it was brief) and I hope you like the final product!
Here are some pics we took:

Cheers,
Mitch

I was most likely up at Southern Branches sun shade/tent thing, yes they actually thought ahead and took some shade so I parked myself in there for a lot of the day

Jeremy does a Great job eh! I have seen the rest of his car and it mostly looks like that caliper be it all in bits right now though.
With regard to kids and no respect for property, I was horrified to see the kids scooting past a number of cars (mine included) on scooters at speed and mostly out of control. If one had come off lord knows what damage might have been done to a car not to mention the kiddie!
I would have taken more photo's but I filled my memory card up and when I put the newly purchased one in I found it to be too large for my camera and of no use :( My camera simply couldn't handle it and rejected it outright.
Graham if you read this mate thanks for a great 3 days/nights. The security guard and I had a good chat this morning as he was finishing up - he was stoked and so were we! Excellent......
Cheers

Thank you for putting so much effort into a great day.
In saying that I was quite suprised that myself and a number of other entrants were lead to park such a distance away especially taking into consideration how much open space was left in the main area of the park.
As for kids, I can understand and appreciate that we were in the middle of a park that is open space for everyone and not exclusively us, and that families were out with there kids enjoying the day and whilst fingerprints would drive me crazy, I had to deal with kids running around throwing rocks and dirt at each other, whilst I know my car needs body work, I don't want it to get any worse.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was great to take the car out and stretch it's legs, great to catch up with some familar faces, and soak in the sun.

Unfortunately alot of people dont understand the lengths that we go to to keep out cars in the condition they are in and to those people "what's the problem... it's just a car!" (UGH....)
I think you and Orange did the right thing, but i'm doubtful that they will every learn what it's like to respect something as much as we do! ( I was discussing this with Howard and others on the day! It's amazing!)
I wonder how many touched my car as it was parked out on the road! (Shame it's not Torana-And-A-Monaro-Fest

Cheers!

Meeting a lot of fellow forum members from qld, canberra and sydney and also catching up with a lot of people from last year.
The motel atmosphere was a blast and meeting guys like Litre8, Herne, Keith and Hux made it all the more worthwhile. Oh theres also Jeremy and I think we'll leave it at that, but I have never laughed so hard at one person before and we won't repeat the conversasions.
Car of the day had to go to xuidave and his strike me pink XU1, and it was good to catch up again, Dave you're a pissa.
The cruise that Mick organized was excellent, especially for us people who are a bit worried about venturing out to far for fear of being lost. Thanks.
The Sunday was the BEST static car show that I have ever attended and its a credit to everyone who organized the day, you should be very proud.
It's excellent to see all the different varients of one model of car displayed in such a way that it just leaves you in ore.
Definately making the trip north again next year, can't wait.
The trip home was interesting as just out of Goulbourn we recieved the combination of a dust storm and terrential rain all in one, I kid you not, it was raining mud. The lc has now changed from purple to a distinct brown, but thats life.
Once again well done to the HVTC, great show and meeting some great people makes the long trip worthwhile.
Cheers Chris.
