hi,
i will try again to get some pics up if they work
we have our new 202 has been bored.015" over and has now been grout filled and is awaiting my return from usa with a set of ross forged pistons and total seal gapless top rings to suit you will also see the torque plate i made and gregs girdle on engine aswell the final bore size will be .017" over.

helps the motor hold together as there is no room to the bored to shift/move only really for drag motors not advisable for the street....

You can fill at different levels. i have seen street engines grout filled to the water pump bolts.

Looking good guys! What exactly have you done to your motors, just curious as my mates one seems to have a habit of cracking bores (186)

Yeah Ive seen my fair share of grout filled blocks for high HP street cars. As said, up to the water pump bolts.

Some of the drag guys and hi performance guys are filling them completely...

hi, i now have the ross forged pistons for the new 202 engine i was after some information on converting the blue rods to full floaters as i was told this might be a good idea has any body else done this before? any help would be great.

they look tops hayden would love some of those for mine! cant see the top photos but. how do u mean full floaters? as in usings circlips for the gugeon pin instead of pressing it into the little end bore with so much crush on it so the gugeon pin can spin freely in the little end bore??
does that explenation make sence??
the engines i usually work on like cat 3516's run that spec, dont know if its because its real easy to wack another piston on the rod or its stronger that way.
i built a 4g54 for my mate wich had oiled gugeon pins that would be handy if ur thinking about playing with the blue rods some how.

Uglybob, yes you are correct that is what i mean and the new pistons have provisions for spirolocks
to hold gudgion in place.

Orangelj, they were made to press fit onto blue rod as per std but aparently they can also be run as
full floaters.

ah kool bananas. ok then well wouldnt u just enlarge the little end bore and then just wack in your circlips. would this realy improve the life of the piston/gugeon pin/rod do you think? i suppose it could help with wear in the pin bores in the piston.
r u going a roller cam in the girl this time round??

yes that it what happens but they put a bush in the little end aswell so i am unsure if it
will weaken it more so by doing this or will i be better off leaving it press fit as we never
had a problem with the pin area of the ACL pistons.

no roller cam yet, as old cam was salvaged from last engine.

ah ok then, i rekon that would make the rod weaker just because you would have to take so much meat out of the little end bore with the bush and all but what ever floats your boat.
do you rekon you could send me a pici of your torque plate?!

Hayden, bushing the little end is a common mod, I have been doing it for years and never, never seen a rod failure in that area.

just to confirm, even if we bush them to suit a .866" dia wrist pin (std)?. yes i must say that in the 2 engine failures i have seen the rod is cirtanly not the weak part at all but we arnt making a lot of power.

Warren, i have told uglybob the same i have no pics until some time next week hopefully as i am getting new computor tommorow and computor shop is swapping all the stuff from this one to new one then i will be able to post pics properly.
