I only ask because it's a thought that I had because I want to do as much work on my hatch by myself as possible.

How will you set the mounts up in the right spots? Would you make up a jig around the diff that you originally had and then put your new diff into the jig to weld up the mounts?

Yes that would be the way i would do it. At one point i had a great pic of a jig a bloke had made for his hilux diff into his escort. Im going to get a diff shop to do this despite having a mate offer to weld it. There are a couple of blokes on here who have done it themselves.

Edlebrock rpm heads, and inlet manifold, 40 thru on the block with hypereutecticpistons, double row timing chain, sump to fit into a torana.
Cam may be a little non standard too.
Lucky for me one of the blokes I work part time with runs his own engine shop up this way. I'm going to throw in new bearings and rings. Maybe look at putting some probe forgies and give it all a balance. Then dump the heads of with him for a port and polish. Set of roller rockers with a holly 750hp and roller cam and that should keep me happy.
Only drama I can see is the $$$ in getting some headers made up.
Hopefully I get a chance soon to pick it up.

Well Im back from holiday and I got a few little things done on the torana.
The old diff is out, it went with the 9" housing to Trans Diff to have the mounts welded on.
Some more pics:
Also the front seats were pulled out and sent round the corner to be recovered, Black pleather with orange stitching is what i want and will see how that turns out.
Finally, I got myself a new toy, was half looking but found it at a price I could not ignore.
08' CBRR 600 HANNspree edition with powercommander and two brothers exhaust.

I missed the postman yesterday so first thing this arvo I went flying out to pick up some more goodies.
Is it just me or do JE make one sexy piston?
for the followers out there the rods are ESP 'H' beam and the slugs are a SRP forgies
I still have a list of goodies that will be ordered when funds allow that will permit work to commence on assembling the bottom end.
Despite the block being at .40 tho over it looks like the deck hasnt been touched much at all, we measured about .25 thou to zero deck across all 8 banks. We will probably take this down to .05 to leave a little room, just in case.
We have also begun the quest for a cam, at this point in time we are looking at a particular Crane, it will be a mechanical roller and making its power fairly high in the rev range.
Ill keep you all posted.
