i have done this mod i hope these pics work when we modified the oil pump for external pick up we just tig welded a "jic" (an) plug
that i had spigoted into the std cover plate make sure you get it re faced after welding but i amsure you would do it any way ,from memory
i think you can tap the std oil inlet on pump to 1/4 npt to plug it off.
Hope this helps Thanks Hayden

What is most important is a supply a feed to no 1 and no 6 main oil gallery on the pressure side. In the other thread there was a photo with the braided line.
I've run 500+rwhp in my turbo 6 for years with the standard pickup. My oil pump is ported and blueprinted and all internal oil passages have been massaged a bit, plus external lines on the main gallery. Only 50psi pressure and never a problem and its been well thrashed for years.

yes mate it is on the rather large side but unsure if you have done the calculations in regards to suction hose size
to help prevent cavation at high revs you would know that the std 10.5mm id pick up is very marginal in fact with a well
prepared hv oil pump it would have a flow velocity of 50+ ft/sec at 7,000 crank rpm in the std oil pick up if you were to put
the correct size suction hose on the pump it would have to be 11/4 id to get 4 or 5 ft/sec flow velocity but that would be a
little extreme this is why we have put a 1" id oil pick up on it. what you might find is that alot of the old blokes that have
run these engines for years in a racing enviroment have external oil pick ups fitted. but i am aware of the 1 and 6 pressure
feeds but i have not used then as yet.

Thanks for the pics and tips guys , have you run this engine with that pump setup Hayden ? .IMO you are wasting your time with an external pick up like that.
