cars looking great Darren, L34 headers cost approx $760 per side so a total of $1520. Then to Jet-hot coat them around $350. i had mine done in flat black, they look great and easy to touch up any damage.

if it were me i would look for a neat mandrell bent set of extracters that fit up nice and high and get them coated, you would save about $800 which would pay for the rest of your exhaust system, plus have less joins to leak. cheers Gary

G day Gary sorry i did not take your advice! Got a set of NOS set of L34 Headers and fitted them bit of a pain but well worth it. They sit up nice and tight under the car. And i must say fit perfectly. you couldn't get a better fit!

Well i finally got my exhaust today. Can you believe they don't make right hand side 2.25 inch tail pipes anymore. Anyway the end of the L34 headers were cut of and flanged to 2.25 inch to a straight through muffler. (It's not that loud...hmmmm) over the diff with some 2.5 inch chrome tips. I liked the black pipes and the boy liked the Chrome. Boy Won!

While it was there i got them to do a Roadworthy on it and was waiting for a list to fix and this is what i got!!

** Wheel alignment.
** Windscreen wiper Knob comes off.

oh and a cable tie on the battery power lead.

WERHOOOOOOO!!!!!

I go them to do it at the same time so they couldn't Knock back the exhaust....

Gona book in for Rego for Thursday....

Fingers crossed its done..

Oh and ordered a new Interior from Eastern..will be ready in 4 weeks.

Im jealous!! Wish mine was running or even had an exhaust for that matter!!
Do you mind me asking what your trim (just door trims?) cost from easterns? Were they quick /slow? Ive got the exact same interior and will need mine doing? Whats their chamois golf ball like?
Ta.

DrFegg thank GOD for that!! It's my birthday today so i had to buy myself something!!
The seat covers are $1700.00
The door trims are $700.00
Carpet i have new. Knox
Headlining is New.
Parcel shelf is new.
Shifter boot is new.
Kick panels are new.

If you pay folding they are faster!
Mine is a Black Interior.

His materials are of the highest standards.
He is also moving factories.

To tell you all the truth i can't believe how much it cost to do a old torrie up.

My son added it up a while ago, when he got to a certain amount i told him to stop counting.

If i could get it new i did.
It is like driving a new car.

Got to get it tuned now. really it has just been put together and started. now i will go looking for performance.

Well on the way home from getting a wheel alignment filled it with fuel, got home ....petrol smell! checked it out and the fuel sender was actually cracked around where the fuel line passes through the mounting plate, anyway bit of a search and V-SLR5000-P helped me out with a tank with a sender in it. cleaned it up and wacked it back in. Allright Red says all toranas were painted black on the tank, i kinda like it silver, like my sons LH SLR 3300 which wasn't painted black. What do you think?

Darren good to hear yopu are mobile again. Did you swap over the sender units or change tanks? How did you remove the sender unit without special tool 8A1, just tap the locking ring around?

The finish on the fuel tanks on all LH/X's were galvanised, the silver look.

Once the gal wears they go surface rusty, so everyone paints them.

You wont find a shop that will re-gal a fuel tank, if you do let me know :)

Mate thanks again,

that is my tank, i swapped the sender by gently tapping the ring around a bit at a time on all three tabs, then it just unlocks and you can swap it over,
i got a rare spares seal for it, but suprise suprise, it is to thick, and to hard aswell just put the old one back in and no leaks. Thanks Again

I think they are made from Terne coated steel. A mixture of Tin and lead. Which is allready on the sheet steel. that is why you cannot galvanize over them, it won't stick properly. So they are just pickled mild steel which is drawable into a shape which is coated in terne, then welded.

Well I looked for about a year and finally found some at the right price. Finally got my wheels sorted.

Tinkers has picked them up for me and could not have been more helpful. They are in W.A.

Thanks you again.
