Hi everyone.
Now that the general thread has gotten to 20 pages! ( Yikes!) its getting a bit hard to find the relevant info.
So this thread should contain all the info you need to know to find out about whats happening for the day.
Info Copied from Brett's thread below! thank you mate!
GMH Torana Forum Drag Day, Heathcote Raceway, Vic
Saturday 18th March 2006
Gates Open: 9am
Racing from: 11am
Ends approx: 4pm
Lunch Break: from 1:30pm - 2pm
NOTE: Please arrive early and have your car scrutineered as early as possible (ie. well before 11am, so that racing can start on time and maximise the days racing), if people are still mucking around all morning, racing might not start till much later.
Shortly after lunch, we can run the D.Y.O competition. Once that is finished, more grudge racing until 4pm. Heathcote will supply 2 trophies for us for the D.Y.O.
As for the burnout pad - I will email Heathcote about this. There is a chance they can get the ambo's to stay later than 4pm - this could mean racing would cease at 4pm sharp, and burnouts would then commence from 4pm-5pm. Just an idea (this is how the Eastside Cruisers are running their drag day the following week).
We don't want to run the burnouts during the course of the day's racing as it means lots of mucking around changing wheels over etc. I've also heard once a car goes in the burnouts, they're not allowed back on the dragstrip, so it'll just be easier to leave the burnouts for the end of the day. If lots of people are planning to have a play, we may even need to start earlier than 4pm.
PRICES:
To race: $40
Spectators: $10
Extra Drivers/Passengers: extra $5 on top of spectator price
Canteen WILL BE OPEN with hot food etc.
Helmets can be loaned at no charge for anyone without their own.
BRING CASH - NO CREDIT CARD FACILITIES AT THE TRACK!
Were staying at the Tea House motor Inn in Bendigo and more than likely going to have a BBQ after the race day using the facilities there.
[/SIZE]
Anything else relevant to the organisation of teh day you can post here.
Cheers.
Idiot me got the months mixed up... Fixed now Sorry!!

Hey Tiny, is there an advantage of putting your name down here instead of just turning up. I've been chatting with different people including the GT guys *fingers crossed* and they were wondering whether they should sign up somewhere?
Also, how's everything with advertising going? Are you interested in publishing it in any Vic newspapers? The club did that in two runs last year, both had exceptional turnouts. Depends on how numbers are going though I suppose...

What qualifies as a tail shaft loop? The boys hatch has a solid tailshaft but also has the engineering in the tunnel for a centre bearing. Would a loop across there be ok? If so are there minimum dimensions?

SCRUTINEERING REQUIREMENTS:
● NO OIL/WATER/FLUID LEAKS
● Must run an overflow bottle
● No loose items eg. Batteries/Battery boxes etc.
● Functional inhibitor switches for automatic cars
● A tail-shaft loop is highly recommended, but not enforced
● Its also a good idea to run a large hose-clamp around your oil filter to prevent it spinning off
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO RACE?
All you need is a helmet, long sleeve top & pants, and appropriate footwear (ie. No thongs, enclosed shoes are a must). Helmets are available for loan (free of charge) at the track. These same requirements also apply for passengers.
I know Tiny already covered a few of those things, but that's everything I had noted down from past drag days....
Sunscreen is also an excellent idea if the weather is going to be hot (not much shade up there)....

Jeez i was a bit scared when i read tailshaft loop! But they are not enforced! thank god! I think the handbrake cable acts as a pretty good loop anyway! i might degrease underneath my car as well so it doesnt look so oily and disgusting!
DO u have to pay an extra charge if u want ur passenger to have a drive of your car?
Is a Coke Bottle good enough to act as an overflow bottle?
Anyway i think i just have to adjust my reverse linkage and i have fix my problem! if i havent and it isnt in reverse, then ill tow it out of my driveway and just drive it up and not park it anywhere where i may need reverse! (or have enough room to push it if need be! lol

Ive fixed my STUPID typos... thanks guys
Brett: thanks for the info! Your a champ.. belive it or not i couldnt find the info! LOL
Can we please ask any further questions in the other thread, this one needs to be kept easy to read...
To answer heath: Invite them along, it would be nice if they signed up ( let us know) on here beforehand because we dont want gate crashers on the day.
253ToranaSS: Coke bottle: YES seen it done.. any driver must be registered as a driver and therefore pay the $40.
Cheers!

Just one quick thing - a second driver pass is only $5 (if they are racing the same car, ie. co-entering). This is on top of the spectator fee.

Second driver may actually be $10 (on top of spectator price). Sorry about that. The $5 is just for the passenger.
