Looking good, appears to be a very nice installation job on the flares from the pics, smooth clean lines around the edges

Hi Tim, Mate if I had of known about you 12 months ago I would of seen if you could have done it, the work that you have done so far on your brothers UC is spectacular at the least, and fast, cant wait for colour to go on.

Hi 76lxhatch, Ill try and get some better photos of the flairs showing how well they fit when I go down there Friday. When I went to take photos last time for you he had taken them off the car.

Chris, you cant sell the Torana, youve done too much work for someone else to enjoy it, Just get a small tinny, that way the kids can enjoy both (and the bigger kids).
The wheels I am looking at are something like these,

Im just not sure as yet might be different when I get the car back home.
Cheers Paul.

HA HA, nice parking Ralph. :tease:

This was mine when I first got it

Drove it home 650K's, in the rain didn't miss a beat.
Thank god it doesn't look like that any more.

I cant wait to see how it looks either Chris, hopefully it will be at Torana Fest with yours. :spoton:

Cheers Paul.

Thanks Paul,
The first photo is the one I'm kind of leaning towards, but also think the second photo would look good with the centre powder coated black.

If a member who was a bit savvy with Photoshop could paint the centre and place it onto that side view photo of my car I would be able to see how it would look, that would help with the decision process.

Mate it feels like its taking ages, its been 12 months for the body and paintwork, but should have it back in two weeks, then I will be able to clear out my lounge room of parts (wife will be happy)
Cheers.

Thanks, I'd forgotten I asked the original question when I made the comment above. They look great, especially the fit against the panel where the piping sits. You should be able to fit some pretty decent sized rubber under there now!

Thanks Chris, but this sister is having the chrome put back on and have canned the pinstripe idea but things may change later.
Mate I am looking forward to spending the time and putting this thing back together.
So Mick's the man for wiper motor installations then???? lol :stirpot:

Its the only colour to have in a black & white world, and were not being biased ay Mick :dontknow:

Michael, it looks cool when youre standing there, mind you there is a fault with the black paint on the nosecone, can you pick it in the last photo???
The painter pointed it out to me, and said the black on the nosecone will be painted again. Can you see it????

Cheers

Hi Chris, I am aiming for Torana fest, but as you know a painted carcass to a driver is a long way off, but will give it a good nudge.

Im installing the diff and k-frame down at the paint shop next Saturday (27-02-10) and rolling it onto a car trailer. Yes at long last shes coming home :bliss:

Hay has any one reading this got 4 HQ (GM) wheels I could borrow till I get it home, if so could you let me know. When I get it back home I'll pop it on stands and give the wheels back. 0412 329 984

This is how she looks now, all thats needed is a sand and buff witch will be next week.

The car is white not cream as it looks in this photo.

Thanks Michael, I think my patience has been tested so far, and Im not going to rush it now, I plan to work on it every moment I can and not be impatient. My son wants to help with the rebuild, so that will help with timing of the rebuild a little. Id like to drive it to toranafest later this year, but well see how that goes.
Cheers.

G'day Paul.

Wow! I hope you can make it to Toranafest. Was my first time last year & enjoyed every minute of it.
I'm at the fantasy stage of my project rebuild with a head full of what if I do's & ideas but not ready to commit just yet.
Would be great to talk to you about the highs & lows of a project like yours one day.
Anyway, Good Luck!

Hi Ando, Thanks for the positive comments, Mate I'll try my hardest for Toranafest, But you are on the coast as well, so may catch up with you at some stage soon.

Hi Kev, nah mate, at Arundel, just up the road from you, I met you at that car show held at that school in Nerang a while back, was talking to you about those flairs on the orange 2 door (the 4 door type).

Hi Chris, I picked one up a couple of months back, its in pretty good condition. Are you looking to off load yours? Did those people get back to you about the sender lock thingies for the alloy tanks? If they wont sell one I might look at using one from VDO, we'll see.

Four sleeps to go, getting excited.
Cheers Paul
