I hadn't driven it until today when I took it over to the local industrial area to tune it for Wednesday. Has a loud rattle at idle coming from the sump area. I'm going to pull the clutch cover off tomorrow and hope its something to do with the clutch/pressure plate although it does really sound like a bearing as the noise goes away with a few revs.
I was really looking forward to having a run as well but will come back with a better engine in a couple of months.
The one in it now has served me well as it only cost $2200.00 off eBay complete with the Webers so not really that disappointed.
Hope to catch up on Wednesday. If I do come over it will be in the FC so I can get the prize for the lowest 1/4 mile time

My mate Chris has organised a few guys to come out on wednesday as well. There are no guarantees they will all turn up, though if we need to make up numbers, they would be more than happy to run against each other throughout the night.
They arent fussed if they end up in the normal lanes, but as I said, if we need to make up numbers, they would be happy to jump in.
2 Sleeps to go!
Gonna be a great night!

Now, would you like to explain what happens once we reach the paperwork side of things (filling out forms to race)
How will they know we are apart of our own lane?
Do we mention it when we fill out the forms, as I recall we had to tell the officials where we were at?
Cheers,
Mitch

Hopefully quite a few of us will be able to head up to scrutineering together that will make their life ALOT easier!
When you pick up your forms and get your arm band let the officials know and i'm sure they will tell you to tell the scrutineers.
When you have your car checked by the scrutineers, make sure you tell them that your part of the GMH-Torana.com.au reserved lane tonight and they will put you in your own lane ( often Lane 6).
That way as you go around to line up, we get to line up together!
Remember to read the PDF forms that i attached on Page 1, and dont forget to bring your helmet!!
See you there!
