Great Photo Harve!

No Need to apologise for the cherry mate, it happens! (You can get a nasal spray for that now heheheh :tease:) I was just Chuffed that i got the ET on that run! That was my PB!

My best RT was a 0.286! I was Concentrating on watching that Tacho AND the lights to try and get a good launch and watch what the revs were doing!

Now i need a bigger cam and some head work(which it needed anyway) before the next event.

I'd be keen to see some times, especially MitchG with the ex-Yella High Performance 3.36 Smokem Drag-em Off Diff.

How did you go Harves? Also be keen to see your times. Did a lap around Wakefield with 2Tough till he had some sort of meltdown.

No meltdown yesterday luckily, but it was a hot arvo, for that first run at least:

12.021 @ 113.52mph
11.959 @ 114.22mph
11.808 @ 111.40mph *
11.855 @ 112.97mph

* Car didn't feel quite right when changing into top gear on the third run, so I backed off just before the line, was still a decent run though.

Aww crap! Thanks VERY MUCH for that link Craig!

I Played around with re-encoding the videos this afternoon to get a good quality video at a decent size! I didnt even THINK about the codec!

All good now Tiny. Once I saved the videos, I was able to view them. I got flogged against that Ford. Just wasnt fair!
And then flogged against that Pink Belair, then flogged against Tiny. I dont think I had a single fair run! Closest I got was against Craig which was a 1 second difference.
Anyone know how I can get more power through 3rd gear. It just seems to.....die.

Hmmm 3rd gear....

Does it pull cleanly in the other two gears Mitch?

Could be running out of fuel and "nosing over" in 3rd gear if the fuel pump isnt up to the task, What sort of revs are you crossing the line at?

What's the general specs of the car? Diff Ratio, that kind of thing?

I'm re-encoding the videos (found a Youtube compatible setting and it makes 4Mb MP4 Videos! Looks good this end!) and uploading a couple more to Youtube now!

Not sure on revs tiny (no tacho in the car, something ill get soon though), but first and second rev fairly high, and it quickly gets to 3rd gear around 110km/h, though when i get to 3rd gear, it doesnt seem like it wants to go any further, and it takes a while to get the speed up. Diff ratio is 3.36. Its a series 1 vn v6, with th700 gearbox. All stock. I just figured if I could have 3rd gear as quick as 1st and 2nd, my times would be much lower, and mph up higher. If you watch the videos, It launches quiet fast, then halfway down the track it dies when it hits 3rd. Its best seen in the video against craig.

I'll have to have a bit of a think about it mitch... *shouldnt* be the gearing... 3rd shoudl be 1:1 in a TH700.... maybe it's fuel.. could be leaning out a little toward the top end which could hurt a bit...

I noticed it does REALLY good burnouts and good launches... so i know what your saying!

Maybe... MAYBE the injectors are maxing out at those kind of revs/speeds... SOmehow i'm leaning toward a fuel supply problem mate!

Havent had to do anything with the fuel system other than relocate it, though I believe it is a VL fuel pump. So you are suggesting I should maybe look at upgrading the fuel system?

Can people please download the .MP4 video of my final pass ( in car camera) and tell me if it works and looks good!

It's an MP4 Codec i'm using that Youtube likes, 640x480 video size and it looks really good on my screen when i preview it!

At only around 6Mb.. it beats all of the others!

LOL Keith your 15 second pass has got me terrified, I will be in at the workshop tomorrow adding some sandbags so as we are better matched :P
