Hi all,

Not a lot of progress on the car recently, working mainly on interior. Have added fibre glass door trim tops to my GTR trims, and will run these in the car. Speaker holes were cut by previous owner, why would anyone do that? Also have GTR trim for the seats, will carefully remove the S trim, and store.

Dash is ready to go in, gauges with needles re done.

Reco gearbox to go in as well, nice ratios compared to my current M20 box. Shorter shifter as well.

Building shed at the moment for the Torana, so will wait until that is finished to do much more. Working under the carport isn't the best. Car needs a radiator and exhaust.

Dash, ready to go in

Hi Blake,

I bought the gauges like that and put them in my surround. I was told they were re coloured by Dash Original, but I don't know for sure. When you look really close, the new red is a little larger than the old markings. But they look great in the car,

Quick update.

In the last year I have removed front end and replaced all front end bushes, ball joints, rotors, pads, mounting rubbers and brake hoses. As below the front end is back together, and I have Lovells springs sitting in the car to gauge the ride level, it looks good, so they will stay. The front end was in good condition, but I thought it best to replace everything, prior to going back on the road.

I have reconditioned steering rack to go in, and new rubber steering coupling.

Posted Image

Induction is now triple 40 mm Dellortos. I have found 40s a little more street friendly than 45s, in the past, so I have 40s with at the moment 32 chokes. The motor since fitting these is very responsive , even from around 1500 rpm . Motor revs well up to my self imposed red line of 6000rpm. I will run 2.5 psi fuel pressure via regulator, as I've found Dellortos do not like much more fuel pressure than that. All lines from the pump will be braided with Earls fittngs.

I have decided to repaint the car, and have started stripping down again. this time around it will be painted Monza Red. Wheels will be the '75 Sprintmasters still, but I have been considering 15 inch Convos,

Thanks for viewing

Simon

Looks good mate. How those springs do not bind is beyond me!!!!

Colour, i will reserve my comments till its finished as it looked to cool in white :D

Keep the Sprintmasters and get the Convos as well as they are a cool looking wheel and suit Torrie's really well :)

Hey Brad,

Yes, springs appear to have dropped a bit, bump stop clearance is less than when I first set them in.

I know, hard decision to change colour, but I am big fan of red LCs, and body is nice and straight, should come up well.

Yes, think I'll go Convos, 6inch, but definately will keep the '75 Sprintmasters

Regards Simon

Thanks mate, was a great starting point, that's for sure, straight, rust free, good panel fit

That's the same block in the car, that came with it, even that was very good when sonic tested for wall thickness,

Love the car Simon!! Can't believe how clean it is!

Had it been previously restored or has in been rust free from the factory?

Thanks John.

Hi John,

I've been right over the car, it has had a drivers side lower front guard section fitted, passenger side lower guard looks to have had a little repair work and some small holes filled with s mig on the passenger side front floor, apart from that it is very clean.

Had , I think an original 89 odd thousand miles on when I purchased it from a forum member.

It is one of the cleanest LCs I had seen in a long time,

Regards Simon

Hey Brad,

Ah yes, that's right, I still reckon that would have been pretty wild, the set up you had in mind,

You still going to put that running gear into something else?

Regards Simon

Hey Stinga,

They are for Dellortos, I think they fit Solex as well, but nor Webers, they are 12mm but I think Webers are different, I could be wrong.

I don't have a weber to try them on,
