Finally picked up the car this morning . Drove it home, roughly 1 -2 hours drive with a decent stop in between for lunch. I believe its going on 22 years since I last drove a Torana, which was this one just before placing it into its long term storage. To be honest , at first I wasnt really enjoying the drive. Firstly ,Im getting lazy in my old age and generally only drive an auto. The gearbox is also very stiff through the gears, has some leaks and we think needs a bit of surgery. Bloody 4 speeds, kept looking for 5th and nearly put it into reverse a few times. The rack is also a bit stuffed and needs replacing in the near future. Bit of play but when your not used to that it can be a bit hairy. Basically Im used to the modern automobile. By the end of the trip though, after giving it a few sneaky squirts here and there, the old feeling was coming back to me. Still ,it makes you really aware how far automotive design has come since the 70,s.
Mucho thanks go out to Rob at MR performance in Dandy for getting it finished for me.
Anyways, still plenty of little pieces to finish and some bigger ones to be replaced in the new year.... onto the pics!!

I know exactly what your saying about the drive experience. My car is the same. Lots of people do modifications to improve that. But my mission is to make sure that the original design is working at its best. (New bushes, new steering rack, careful wheel alignment, etc) If that fails I too will be selecting some mods.
