Gday Denis!

Happy New year to you and the family mate! I've already got oil pressure, Water Temp and Fuel pressure out on the cowl, so these are just the electric guages and warning lights inside the cabin!

I think the stallie is big enough, she pulls nicely and it'll beinteresting to see what happens down the 1/4! I'll keep you posted :)

Cheers mate!

Thanks Marty, I'm using it to teach myself autocad for work, i sort of know autocad, but because i dont need to use it all the time i get very rusty!

Cheers Guys!

Looking good Tiny !!..
Just wanted to point out something to you mate about your outside gauges..
I had a Tachy Gauge mounted on the cowl outside on my old Torana and was driving along when a plastic bag came floating by and you guessed it caught my Tacho , couldn't see with it waving around in front of me on the windscreen, pretty scary .Very unlikely to happen to you ,but just something to think about.
Cheers

That looks great Tiny.. real professional.

It's an awesome piece of kit you've got to play with there! I can't stop thinking of all the things I could make.

Thanks Gents!

J-Rod - Mate it's a VERY cool tool but it has its limitations! This is the first foregin order that i've done for myself, so i took the time and did it right!

Thanks Herne, Mick and Mark!

I have to say one thing though... I did this just in the nick of time. When ive got some more energy, I'll post up the pic of the wiring that USED to run the thermo fans... I was shocked when i saw it!
Dont know how they ran before at all!

And.... I'm GLAD i did not become an auto electrician...
1) I'd be broke! - Only did the Thermo fan wiring today... Yep... ALL day.
2) I aint built of working underneath dashes!!! - Even with the driver's seat REMOVED it's not fun!
3) I think i take too much care.... compared to teh CRAP that came out anyway.... We'll if/when it fires up!

Cheers!

Hehehe Antelope....

I had to customise it SOMEHOW....

Could have bought it anywhere otherwise :P

(It is very gratifying when someone asks "Where did you buy that!" when theyre talking about something you've made! That happens alot with the billet hose clamps we made and hopefully the dash too!)

Cheers again!

THe router is about $80K worth, That particular one is about 8 years old and it's done it's fair share of work which is why it doesnt do so well in the engraving!

Take a look at www.matcam.com.au for some of the latest model machines from the guys who look after ours!

Cheers Bart!

Ad a few more piccies of the progress!

This is what i found in front of my radiator... this was the earth that was running 2 Fan motors!!

Posted Image

The New fan wiring - Completed!

Posted Image

And Two Pictures of the Tachiometric relay i got to isolate the fuel pump... turns out it wasn't so hard after all!

Posted Image
Posted Image

All the wiring is coming along in the dash itself, I've take the method of attacking 1 Circuit at a time and completing it so that i dont get any more confused than i am!

The switches and lights are all now hanging out of the dash for the Fans (Override and indicator), Line Locker (On/Off and Indicator), Fuel Pump (On/Off, Prime button, Indicator).

Tomorrow's dilemma is the warning light circuit/s, and the Speedometer sender/sensor wiring!

Then all that's left is the Stereo, and cutting and shutting the guages and indicator lights themselves!

It's happening... albeit slowly!
And Thanks for GMH355 for coming around for moral support and to get my mind back on the job this morning! Cheers!

Love the engine bay, the red paint looks nice against the blue hoses.
Nice work Tiny.

THe original Colour scheme was red and blue, but that got hard to maintain so when we redis the heater box and stuff it became black again. Just a few blue highlights and the hoses were one of them!

Well. After MUCH effort... i got the dashboard together today.

All the wiring is now terminated, both in the car and behind the dash with removable plugs, the guages are mounted into the fascia using hose clamps and some silicon to stop them from rotating, and i had a trial fit of the dash in the hole and so far so good!

So here it is dummied in place and i'm quite happy with the outcome!

Posted Image

Just another day or two to make all the final connections, re-fit the entire dash and hope to CHRIST it all works!

Cheers
