Wouldn't your Paint Number on your I.D Plate tell you the colour
It does. The car is Glacier White from the factory. I just didn't know what colour it currently is.

No worries, it looks like Mandarin Red, Mandarin Red was on the HJ Monaro's and LX SS Hatchbacks, not sure if it was a LH Torana Colour at all.

Only 68,000km back then, what does it have now Adrian? great story, a friend of mine had a chrome yellow L34 back around 1983-84, he has had all different types of Holdens since then, Brock Commodores, HSV's but if he should have kept one he says it would have been the L34, his had had the HO kit fitted at the dealer, Dwyers in Wollongong from memory, the car was stolen from his driveway in 1984 and never seen again

I do consider myself to be a lucky man, never ever did I think I would be able to learn the true history of this car but this website was the best discovery I ever made!
No point buying a Tatts ticket, I'm sure I've used up all my good luck for this lifetime....
I remember the car also from the all holden day in which it was shown, from memory you had only just bought it at this stage. I had a car entered in the same show and I remember you saying how much fuel it used getting to Hobart, it certainly shook the old shed when you left the show.
Cheers.
The All Holden Day at Princess Wharf is the 1 and only car show I ever entered the car in, that must have been in the first 12 months I owned the car.
It's without a doubt the thirstiest car I've ever owned, you can watch that fuel gauge drop before your eyes! I clearly remember driving out of that shed and the rumbling and shaking it was causing, I had a smile on my face a mile wide

The car now has a grand total of 70,179 k's..... So it's seen very little road use in the last 20 years.

Hi Hungus, I have owned a couple of 15 x 9 1/2 inch hotwires for about 7 or 8 years and recently took the tyres off them for the first time. Written in nikko on the rim is "scotty" "L34" and "15 x 9 1/2". One rim has "399" written on it and the other has "401".
I'm not sure of the significance of the 399 and 401 but pretty sure these rims could have once been on your car?????
Will try attach a couple of pics in the next post ...

As above ....
Is there anyone here who might be able to put some light on what the significance is of the 399 and 401 on the rims?

Hi there Deane,
Thanks for the info, I was unaware of this. Will grab a copy.
I do indeed still own the car, no one has offered me an obscene amount of cash for it at this stage!

Looks like your car had a run in the 1976 Sports Sedan feature at Sandown. You can see it running into the old Peters corner on the first lap.

And the owner of the O'Brien car hadn't seen it before either.
