Update got it all back in and running changed a couple of things mainly cosmetic
-painted the block, heads, timing cover, oil pump, sump holden orange where the timing cover was silver and sump and oil pump were black
-cleaned up the extractors and have them another coat of high temp paint
Performance changes
-fitted 002 undersize cam bearings had standards in it now have 25psi oil pressure at idle when hot as opposed to 5-10 before
-mate who built the engine didnt cut the intake gaskets to suit the ported heads and as a result were overlapping trimmed up a new set
-rebuilt the trimatic after finding out it was stock after paying decent coin to get it built also fitted a alloy pan to it
-new 5k converter shop stall converter should improve the ET's
Pretty much left the rest of the engine as it was before cept for another crank and new rings and bearings etc
Auto pan gasket has a slight leak which i think may be the poor quality gasket it came with and had some issues with the shifter adjustment but i think im on top of it now plans are to cruise it for a bit and let everything bed it and then back to willowbank for another skid

Update time had a few issues with the engine and trimatic the trimatic didnt seem to be selecting top gear properly even after adjusting the cable heaps ended up being the shifter cable was sticky and wasnt sliding freely ended up getting a pro ratchet and cable of a mate and shifts perfect now
The engine developed a oil leak from the rear of the sump area which was the sump gasket but also turned out to be the rear main seal which was a rope to neo seal conversion after some research i found why it leaked got a new seal now not a drop
Going for a skid at willowbank tomorrow to see what ET and MPH it does not with the new converter and box previous best was 11.84@117mph
will post pics after the weekend

Got out to a test and tune tonight was pretty busy with a nostalgia meeting on tomorrow got four runs in was pretty consistant with 11.77 11.73 11.76 11.73 all at 116mph played around with stalling the converter up on the line leaves alot harder now still some more in it i reckon

mixed results at willowbank temperature was abit hot at the track and got stuck in traffic on the way there ran 2 11.8@116mph passes then had fuel heat issues ran shit 12.4@116mph let it cool for a bit ran 11.78@116mph plugs looked abit rich dropped down two jet sizes and ran a new pb of 11.70@117mph tried putting 2 more degrees initial timing into the dizzy but didnt make any difference still need to work on the sixty foot times they are around 1.7 would like 1.6 plugs still look a bit rich so might drop jet sizes down again and see what happens next time

Bit of a update havent being able to get back out to willowbank yet only changes i have have made were to replace the shocks as the front 90/10's were rooted i replaced them with pedders comfort gas and it handles pretty good for cheap shocks
I did take to the 1/8mile off street drags they are trialing up here at lakeside raceway had a bit of fun was no timing just go on the green couldnt get traction and smoked the tyres most of the time
Have picked up a 650HP to try back to back with the 750HP to see if there are any gains to be made
A few pics
Also took my old man for a spin around lakeside in it he wasnt keen to go for another spin after that
