The word Torana clearly shows.

Herne

That just about settles it. A Sunbird is a Torana, despite the fact Holden in documentation seemed to demonstrate otherwise, just like with Statesman. Parts catalogues and other such documentation seems to say Torana and Holden Sunbird, again like HQ Holden and Statesman.

Just another quick query, when was the Sunbird released? Was it early '77?

Got asked by a fellow winding his passenger electric window today (sign of the times), "Looks good, what year model is it?". To most peeps, they don't know or care what they are, they just like em.

This use to bug me to no end as most people associated the UC with the sunbird model. My car is a UC torana that came out with a six.

This is the reason I stopped doing car shows years ago. I did 2 in the early days and just mingled with the crowd to hear what their comments were stuff like, neat looking sunbird, not bad for a sunbird and it's only a sunbird, why would you bother?

I've moved on now and you will always get uneducated people. Better for us. The less they know, the more chance we have of owning a great example of a torana, sunbird or not.

Maybe I should stick some sunbird badges on mine?

^ Sunbird or not, I still get the same comments with my car. I only go to shows if it is an interesting drive to get there and back, if not, then I don't go. The ole armchair experts that talk dribble.

Hi
Im happy with my budgie shell as i would rather use it then the spare LX SL shell i have that i would be forever chasing rust out of. ANY torana or budgie done up looks better than a rusty XD or shitbox KIA
On other subject how many people get there LXs called a LHs or LHs called LXs

On that subject a bloke once tried to convince ME that my LJ 4 door was an XU-1 once, because it has guard flutes and triple SU's which "only the XU-1's had". Told him he was a bloody wanker and to f*ck off away from my car hahaha.

Glad I was able to help clear that up.

Cheers
